I did my counterflame in those threads (at least in one of them if i remember right).
I did not see the need in writing on every page. I did not expect the staff would do such drastic changes even before the second port, which was livelike was implemented. @the buffbot thing: there wasnt something like "plz rezz amg" on live. Stealthers who died where gone for some time as they had "no chance" anyway without buffs. Every coin has two sides. Theres no point in discussion if its good or bad (i dont like bb either). Yes, you did. And you said exactly what I was talking about. You said that everything was perfectly fine on Euro primetime (implicitely for group rvr since it's definately not the case for solo and especially visible solo rvr). Again, this is not acutally interefering with your playstyle or OF experience. At least it shouldn't. The only way it might would be for you is because 'you don't like the sight of it', which really is something you should be able to live with, right? It's the least you can do to support your fellow end RvR players, even if they don't play in grps about 100% of the time like you do. At least as long as Uthgard isn't experiencing 400+ players in end RvR, which would make the need for these changes obsolete. The funny thing is that these changes actually do help Uthgard reach that amount of actively RvRing players. ![]()
Me neither, but again, this is a grp RvR aspect more than any other. I'm not saying it's therefore less important if anything, I'm just trying to point out that you should start looking at things from another perspective than grp RvR aswell. Again, I believe the second port should be treated with as much (if not more, since it was in fact livelike) priority as anything else (even though reduced port timers also help grp RvR a bit aswell). |

This change just totally disturbs the classic feeling, at least for me, but I am probably not the only one.
Feeling the old spirit from those past days, was fun while it lasted. But hey, at least some stealthers are happy again. |

Instant ports will definitely not come. The horse routes are the only compromise that will be given here. I don't like them too because they are not live like but they are way better than an instant port or fly routes where you are immune to any attack on the whole distance. The horse routes were meant to be a help for players without speed who want to reach the action faster. There was discussion in staff whether a second route should be made from same border keep to give at least one alternative so camping that route is not that easy.

hib stealthers ran that way for 3 years on live server so... other suggestion: could stealth be disabled on this frontier horses maybe? ![]() |

Well the fact that there's only +/-100 ppl RvRing totally disturbs the classic feeling too, aswell as the fact that both Odin's and Hadrians are completely dead. As I said, as long as this server doesn't have 400+ ppl in RvR and at least 50+ 24/7 (which probably needs at least 2500+ ppl on the server on primetime) there will be a need to support action a little. Especially solo/smallman since it's currently dead. As long as you don't support all action (solo/smallman in this case) you can be as classic as you want, however you'll only prevent your server from reaching that good old classic 2500 ppl online. If OF succesfully covers all playstyles on both primetime (Emain = zerg, Odins = solo, Hadrians = 8v8 for instance) and lowpeak hours (Emain = mix) this server will have a more flourishing RvR community than it ever had. As long as it's "go Emain or go away", people's options will be too limited to keep them playing, which is what's happening now (8v8 complaining about adders, adders/zergers/casual players complaining about 8v8 and solos being almost inexistant). Of course you don't see players that aren't RvRing because of this because ye .. they aren't there. ![]() |

I think stealth is already impossible on horseback, I'm not 100% sure though. Hib stealthers ran that way for 3 years on live because there was action on the road, aswell as there was action in Odin's and Hadrians. None of those 3 are here on Uthgard. |

Stealth is possible on horses but not intended to be. The fix is already in the code but there was no reboot yet. I thought it was fixed in NF already.

That could be, I wasn't playing yesterday. There was action in Odin's on some days aswell and on the road in Hib also. However what I mean is you can't take them for granted daily, which you pretty much could back on live without wasting a hour looking for inc. ![]() |

While I appreciate these kind of changes and especially the intention of this one, the results is making things for hib worse, insteaad of getting one step closer to equality.
Only one day has passed and already the horse route is camped by multiplte (!) stealthers to gank riders. Unless changes are made, this renders the horseroutes COMPLETELY useless. Taking the stealther-amount of my last few "tests" of the horse route (around 4), a second route would not be that helpful since it would still be possible to gank them with duos. I can think of a couple of possible solutions. 1. Most obvious one: Turn back to old system. Pro: Tested, quite abuse-proof. Con: The intentional idea of slightly increasing the game-system is not applied. 2. Several horse routes. Pro: Makes pharming routes less simple. Con: 2 routes are not enough in my oppinion. I would like to see at least 3, preferralby 4 routes. 3. Make it impossible to be hit off the horse. Pro: Ganking not possible. Con: Not sure, the staff probably thinks this is unfair (why?). Since the horseroute now stops at bolg, I don't see a problem. Possible fix: Make it impossible to unmount and set a guard at the end point (like the ones in the NF boats). This might yield other problems, though. 4. The most radical poposal of change: Change the keeps in the primary frontier zones (Crauch, Beno, Bled) to portalkeeps. While (especially for the size of uthgard) there are enough other keeps to claim, this would give all 3 realms the equal chance to port to emain on the same timer. Personally, I think that making the players un-attackable during the ride would be the best solution. The complaints on this point were especially because of players riding through primary battle points in emain, which has been changed by shortening the horse routes. Just my 2 coppers. |
