We need another BG
There it is. |

Thanks hopscotch :]

There have been a lot of great suggestions in this thread, but it seems as though the staff is steadfast on ignoring it.
or just sure they don't wanna implement it? or discussing it internal?
Thank you! ![]() |
All I can see here is that they've said *Nothing* for pages |
Ok, so I ll do now ![]() If we don´t reply to topics for a longer time period, this could rely on several reasons : - There are many pages on the topic.. maybe someone replied already? - As said above it is possible there are things related to this we are discussing internal and have nothing new to tell you at the moment ( and if its so, cause its internal we would not say ![]() - We don´t have the time for this yet, and we don´t want to get this a in-between-two-cups-of-coffee-discussed so we will go on this later. - It could be discussed in earlier topics. These are just a few reasons why this could happen, there are more of course.. so no worries, good suggestions aren´t just ignored, but we just do not reply everytime ![]() |
Thanks for clearing a few things up for some people.
I don't know how long the thread has gone on for.. but maybe after a month it could be nice to indicate what the general consesus is? Whether things have been noted, whether things are not likely to be changed, whether there are people working on things like this? Just to shed a little light and maybe reduce the whinging ![]() Maybe it's older than a month..? I don't know about anyone else - but I appreciate your post. |

Apparently not in English, no... ![]() |

We also do not always reply in german...if thats it you were suggesting...

Umm not really my experience. Especially as casual player without fixed playtimes and not the chance to get a space in the evening guildgroup. So RVR meant: a) wait 30 minutes for a PUG to get filled, then start RVRing. (would only work when joining the Zerg or deffing something, otherwise after 2-3 wipes against RR10 guildgroups half of our group would vanish) - chance to have fun in RVR was 30%, even less when having less than 2 hours timeframe. b) go to Molvik (there were primetime always 6-20 players on each side, even on the dying classic servers) and have some fun in random small groups. Build a group with speed/mezz/heal and roam. Or if this wasnt possible, just stay near your own tower or the centerkeep and fight there against the other realms. A lot of action with good lvl range (35-39, RR1-RR2.9) and a good place to wait for some free space in a guild group/raid or whatever. A lot of ppl had alts in molvik that were never meant to grow out of it. -- SO I HAVE TO SAY I REALLY MISS MOLVIK -- (there was some action even when the player numbers fell to 500 on bossiney) what did i find here ? braemar - i went there with 20+ and RPd out before even becoming lvl 30. What is the gameplay in braemar ? One realm will build up 2 full groups to take the keep and afterwards zerg the enemies. Shortly later the enemies will leave and therefore also the winning realm looses interest and vanishes also. 30 minutes later the complete story repeats. Whats missing in braemar - There is no place to hide for the defeated realms like the towers in molvik, so its either a bigger group or death for visibles. And of course the missing /rp off to park some chars there drops out supporters long before they reach the XP cap. Sure nobody wasnt happy when being killed in molvik by a fully sc-ed lvl 39 stealther (but you had way more chances against them as against the grey / green killers in DF here). So to come to the point, Molvik was just the best place for the casual gamer to just have some fun in this great 3-realm RVR game, without spending hours to lvl/equipp and build groups for the big RVR. (Especially when playing more than only 1 class). There are many ways to enjoy daoc, and molvik was one of the user-friendlier ones that existed ! Great service to allow us to play for free here, but i have to say - i really miss Molvik - ![]() |

I'm saying some there's more (useful) responses in German than in English which is actually rather annoying when you can't read German. If it wasn't for me picking out that quote from Raghor, this thread would have stumbled further EVEN while the dev's already gave a comepletely useful reply, which leads to dev's saying: "we've already answered this" and players replying "wtf where how when?". This all can be done so much more effectively with a marginal extra effort. |

I really don't understand why people would not want more BG RvR-- at ALL.
Last time I checked, the focus of this game is on RvR, not Everquest-ian PVE. YES, you should need to raid or farm for some template items; YES you don't want to make everything too easy so it turns into Candyland, but do you REALLY think people who are even somewhat familiar with the rush of playing great DAOC RvR come here to do quests or days and days of ONLY group levelling??? /boggle Battlegrounds (since you can't stop rps) are simply a mini-rush and break from the grind to further inspire players to continue on, to their ultimate goal and level 50, and have absolutely nothing to do with end-game population...if anything, the rush of lowbie RvR excites people enough to stick it out to taste Bigboy RvR! Over and over, I have seen people come here to play and get all excited about the server, the style of play--in short, "The Classic-ness" of Uthgard. Many are very experienced players and are more than willing to pay their dues again. What happens, though, is they grind up to level 30-35 or so, then go to Braemar and have a BLAST. They rave about it and talk about how glad they are to have found this server. They are so excited, its awesome~! 111 Wilton is much more spotty, in terms of action, so they end up grinding away, but a few of them start to drop here and there out of sheer boredom, since they often have difficulty finding groups and end up having to solo or duo. Oh, and by the way, does anyone else remember when BG activity was about 20x what it is now, before the XP bonuses for player kills was scaled/nerfed?? I also do NOT understand this decision at all... I thought the point was to get people out and fight?? So then the decision is made that grinding PvE is better??? /boggle.... Thid action is pretty good, but the haves-and-have-nots start to become very apparent. I have been playing here for a couple years now and I have all my crafters and $$ set to do whatever I need, but the average person is now forced to do weeks and weeks of farming instead of RvR. YES, they need to farm and work to get their gear, but what I am saying is that it is yet another discouragement to RVR. If there was more overall activity, say 20+ fighting per realm most of the time in Thid, then people would be more likely continue fighting, even though they have craptastic gear, since its not just them vs some uber-templated XXX going 1v1. Again, I am arguing for MORE bonuses/encouragement to participate in large scale BG warfare, so that newbies can get their zerg on and earn some RPS and $$ for Bigboy, while learning to play their class for later, otherwise, you endup with people who just get discouraged or dont want to *ONLY* farm cash for a month, then simply find something else to do in terms of gaming. Remeber, it's supposed to be FUN-- you remember fun, right?? Its what comes after work and before sleep =D And lastly, I do not want to sound at all unappreciative, since the Staff works so hard to make this great place for us to play, yet the decision to invest all this time into Tajendi and MORE pve really doesn't make an ounce of sense to me. Talk about splitting up the server population !!!!!!!! Whoa!!! How is this better than Battlegrounds in this regard?? It isn't. Fighting players gets people excited about fighting more players. Developing PvE content gets Developers excited about creating more PvE content. Sorry to be sarcastic, but come on...4 hour quests or w/e doesn't exactly boost the agra population now, does it?? How could anyone possibly even argue this point, and yet battlegrounds are the Devil?? /smile riiiiiiiiiiigghhht! In conclusion: The last thing in the world this server needs is more quests, more PvE, more raids, more farming, more crafting, etc. If you are really here in the RvR FORUM talking about ways to improve RvR, then we only need things to encourage more RvR action. Do the following and I GUARANTEE you will see more RvR: 1) Remove the XP scale/caps for BG kills 2) Remove the lvl restrictions for all Battlegrounds 3) Implement the highest XP possible fore BG XPing and fights will erupt! 4) Implement a simple, lowbie BG-- DONT EVEN NEED TO DO THIS RIGHT NOW! People will be more and more likely to make it to 50 and Bigboy RvR if they have FUN on the way up and get to participate in activite battlegrounds! As anti-flameware, I would offer that I was #3 in my class for RPS last week and Im trying to break 200k for the week and I have 4 LGM crafters, as well, so noone can call me a BG slut or afraid to pay my dues, lol. You all need to really take a closer look--past the end of your nose--and look at the BIG picture and what would be good to encourage new players to stick around, cause right now, I bet the retention rate is only 15% or so =/ Just say YES to Battleground Warfare =D /salute |
