Many threads in this forum deal with "RVR fairness" so lets not talk about this topic lets deal with it...
Lets create a Codex for RvR Guilds and Solo that want to have fair chances in RvR and PvP This Codex should deal with the basics of fair RvR and PvP behavior thus dealing with : "adding" "flaming" "use of unfair methods like lagjumps" "balancing" "use of xrealm information" "emoting" and maybe some things you add here The basic idea is that most Guilds on Uthgard subscribe this Codex and enforce its rules on theyr members. Remember this rules would be enforced by the community of this server the stronger the community is the more usefull this rules would be. |

www.wikipedia.org and look up word "utopia" |

Feel free to manifest an codex in your guild.
With some topics is dealt in Server Rules: Any forms of insulting, harassing, threatening, embarrassing, causing unwanted attention or discomforting on or against other players are strictly prohibited. This includes racial, national, original, ethnical, religious, gender-related, disablementical and other manners. ... You may not crossrealm-spy. This means logging in accounts in other realms to check where the players are and what they are doing to organize RvR of the own realm with these informations. However crossrealming is not forbidden. Problem is: many diffrent oppinions concerning solo, "adding" and "zerg" yeah, and some dump people spam german in broadcast ![]() |

ROFL @ Topic: Lets make a manual how to play DAoC friendly and fair. lolz

Rvr is just simple imo,I pasted this from me from another thread but I think it's important to remember:
1:RVR IS NOT FAIR..even 8vs8 is NOT fair..there are always slight differences that make one group statistically better capable to win from the other 2: Zergs will come and go. Zergs come when one group will loose a few times from another group. If other can't counterzerg->YOU HAVE LOST. Wait 30 mins and go agramon again cause zergs have to tendency to break up fast if there are not enough enemies. 3: Agramon is NOT a RP farm. It's a WARZONE. So you have 3 realms who battle to control agramon and the other zones. There are no rules. The only fairness is to help realmmates! but even that is not a law. Most of the no add discussion comes from number 3. The no adder thinks agramon as a rp farm. He wants his char rr12 asap. He needs reliable rps inflow all the time. zergs, adds ..other realmmates mess with that and that frustrateds the no adder. The fairness in agramon will come back if people allow other people to rvr for the realm, instead of for themselves. ![]() |

While many of those things named are forbidden by rules, we cannot do anything about "Zerg" oder "Adding." Zerg has always been a part of daoc.. and I doubt that will change.

What's missing is a Arena, where staged fights between 8vs8 can be set up. That would silence those who cry for fair fights and would let RvR untouched for those who value the open FFA battlefield atmosphere.
|
|
Setting up fights in that way was forbidden on live (RP-Farming). If we introduce such a system one day then without RP/BP/EXP Gain to prevent Character pushing
![]() We had this idea on the board a few years ago. It was dumped because it might've pulled to many players from the frontiers though. |

I like these ideas of a codex. I was always a supporter of fairness and I would support this codex too.
I guess that if this codex isn't too utopic, which it doesn't seem to me right now, we will start a vote in our intern forum to copy those rules into our guild rules. Duke |

A arena would mean that you organize your rvr and you exactly know what you are fighting against. Its the same what occured in agramon once...
Many solo players met in front of agramon central keep. The rules say that you don´t have to fight an enemy if you dont want to. So some players just started duels in front of central keep. The number rised and then around 20+ players dueled in front of ck. After a short while staff send a broadcast to stop the duels. Like those duels a 8 vs 8 arena will be organzation...youll know what enemys you face. In some a way its also RP farming. @ Duke: RvR is not fair. DAoC in general is not fair. But you always have possibilities to get an advantage instead of disadvantages. So it is fair because everyone has the same possibilties or at least should have. In case of "Dying Albion" its just that people prefer dragon raids then agramon. I also dont mind to share my rps with some adders though i hope i can make some solo kills, but there are enough oppurtunities to do so. I want more and more hibs in agramon. I want dozens of enemys in agramon. I want 90% of uthgard players being in agramon with their chars. Each realm should get all to agramon. Thats the mainreason to play daoc. I like 8 vs 8 but i prefer huge battlefields with chaotic circumstates where every player and every class is senseful. Uthgards dayly RvR should be like Uthgard RvR-Events. |

Great idea! Teh 10 commandments of Uthgard RvR! 1.) Do not worship your main assist. There is no main assist. Attack at your own will. 2.) Do not make any excuses (if you lost) because it's not your fault, it's everyone else's fault. 3.) Do not leave people CCed for too long. If possible, attack CCed people straight away. Keeping them out of the fight is not fair towards them. 4.) Keep to equal number fights. It is fair, as long as numbers are equal. Equality over numbers! 5.) If someone adds, make sure you tell them to leave in broad chat, so that the whole realm can see you're a righteous person and valiant warrior. 6.) If the pesky adders don't leave, threaten or insult them, preferably in your native language. Again, in broad chat. One or more XD in broad chat are a sign someone found your text funny or entertaining meaning you're not alone. 7.) Healer classes should only spam spreadheal, because it's easier to press one button than two. MoC is a must have, because moving when getting attacked is out of the question. 8.) If you're a soloer, whenever you die to class x in a one-on-one situation, make sure you complain about it on the message boards. Preferably blame some bugs. It's never your fault that you lost, because you have played for x years which means you're über pro and it's impossible for you to lose in normal circumstances. 9.) If you wanna duo, trio or anything that's not a 8 man group, don't. It's it outrageous to build small groups because a) you'll get run over by full groups b) other full groups will label you as adders which takes us back to rules 4-6. 10.) If you take me seriously, you're an idiot. |

Thats DAoC as we know it ^^
|
|
i would suppord a codex!
...reminds me a bit of the knight of the old codex in the film "dragonheart" ^^ |
|
I dont like adder, but its not because of Rp's, its just because it makes a lot more fun, if the potential Inc comes back knowing that they have a chance to win aswell.
But anyways u cannot forbid zerg, you can not forbid ganking solo's. Its all about honor. There are guilds that do this by purpose and all I do is laugh about them ![]() |
