Hey guys!

The past few days everyone noticed that Emain is being zerged once again - some enjoy it, others don't. That reminded me of a little Event we had a few months back, created by Vomi back then. Since I really enjoyed those X vs X events and I really think we need more RvR - based events I am asking you people if you would like to see something like that again.

(I don't know if GMs can actually realize that but we could make some sort of tournament out of it - the 3 best groups of each realm recieve a little Uthalis reward. Well I will bring that up while talking to GMs)

Some time ago Vomi made 2v2 3v3 and 4v4 Event.
Imo the 4v4 Event was the best and most balanced.

I think 5v5 would be nice too, so im looking forward to that Event, if there are enough people who would like that Event too

why not just get in a group and go to emain, as you would for "normal" rvr?

To Face a zerg ? or loosing fights because of adders ? Running for like 2h and doing no Rps because of that ?

Ok i can understand why you might want to have one, I just see the point.

There are various thread posted where people are calling for more in RVR so that the old days of zerg vs zerg is brought back, then there is this thread where you dont want to go to RVR but have organised x-realm rp farming?

If you want to hold an event of 5 mids vs 5 albs for example, then you'll have to do it through player organisation because i doubt the GM's would allow such a small scale event. However, if players do organise it, they risk being banned for x-realming.

I can already see the end result; a 5man set group of RR10's will win the event, people will start to complain again and it will make absolutely no difference to everyone elses enjoyment of the server.

I also think that these events should only be designed to get people into RVR, not to provide them with a means of getting unique loot; whether it be reskin scrolls or quality increase scrolls.

I've read most of the posts on the state of RVR and the only one that i can see with any merit is Zarkors post that details increasing RP rewards for zerging. Being rewarded for running with more than one group sounds like it would be more beneficial in the long run. People would then stop getting bored and we wouldn't need to come up with event ideas to "keep the flame alive"

PS, Before the RVR police insult me into silence again with their intelligent recourse; i just want to add that i'm not flaming or doubting your commitment to the server at all, i just want to have a meaningful discussion regarding this.

Why does everyone think that you can't win against an average RR10 team with a lower one? It is possible and in smallman groups it is even more about your setup and your comprehension of the game.
Plus: It is not like I planned this without getting in touch with the GMs, so everything is fine as long as we don't give particular information (e.g. group waiting at AMG).

Last time we did this kind of event there were alot of people that ran strong setups with low RR and they managed to keep up with everyone else.

Au contraire mon amì, there is a very simple solution to what you said: we can add a rule that says that the total amount of realm ranks for each 5 players group, is (as an example) 35. So, if 3 RR10 want to play together, they have to group with a RR2 and a RR3, to apply for the tournament

As long as its not 3v3 where alb auto wins, i am up for it ^^ @ borog, there will be no bans, there were Events like this before and they were tolerated by the GMs, and the community made sure it stayed within the rules of the Tournament. Also, if you know how to play, having a few less realmranks will not harm your success in this kind of events, cause theres so much inc that ppl will almost always have ras down.

Or even better, have everyone /random 100 and the top 5 number group up, then /random again and keep going until everyone is in a group. That way there are no uber groups, but a big mix of players, levels and classes.

Some will work and some wont but i bet it would be more fun.

@Asloan: It's good that the GM's are on side because nothing spoils the fun more than getting banned for what you believe is something that is ok to do. Its true that it is not just about RR's but also about how well a team play together. 3x RR10 random pug players might not do so well against 3x RR5 players who are on vent and now each others play style.

@Badtzmaru: thats actually a very good idea it reminds me of the fantasy football leagues where you get a vcertain amount of cash to spend to make your team up. Works for Fantasy Football so i cant see why it wouldnt work here too.

@Sahand: I wasn't aware of your previous events; i wasn't aware you had GM authorisation; i wanted to discuss your idea. If that is just too much opposition or something, then by all means, don't talk to me. Wow.

when i called it X-Realm RP Farming, it is because people regularly get banned for organising x-realm RVR. What you suggested could be percieved as that same thing. The fact that you had previously arranged a similar event and had GM authorisation was omitted form your OP; so i made my argument based off the information at hand.

Relax its just a discussion.

I've never done one of these events but they sound like fun. What I would really like to see more of on this server is the jousts that I heard about from the past. Where they would announce they were going to have a joust and you sent in your char name, lvl, and class and they randomly pickecd 5-8 players from each realm then had them duel. I always wanted to be in one of those with my ranger.
