Making Keep Siege more interesting

Nobody likes keepraids on Uth, that's a fact. Relics are hardly ever touched because of that reason.
These are some ideas (not all are mine, I just list them here) for custom changes to improve the boring keep siege system in daoc.
Any other ideas? Doesn't matter if these things do actually come in the game, but making suggestions for improvements can never be wrong I think. Last edited by Rector on Jul 29, 2009 18:43, edited 3 times in total.

Slightly RP/BP reward for repairing keep gates: if manual upgrade is implemented, a possible option Special rewards/Medal System: I kinda like the idea and am going to discuss it within staff forums Customizing keep NPCs: that is something we already have been thinking about. Currently I'm not aware of the OF development process, but if it is possible to "upgrade" NPCs by handing them equipment, it might be implemented. |

and really like the medal idea would and even the "prices" for your siege efforts (im kinda looking forward to seeing those "i want a reskin so bad" guys who will form up a zerg on each side every single day just to get those 30 medals towards their reskin) |

the old noodle still seems to work - gj coming up with those ideas to improve rvr/raid activity

Heho,
I think one of the reason that there are not much keep and tower raids at the momenten is, that you cannot take rams with you so easiliy. If you take a ram with you and get a buffshear you maybe walk very slow. So maybe more player would make keep and tower raids if they can buy the bp rams again. MfG Luydor |

The only thing that sucked at these bp-rams was, that they were not combineable.

I agree and I think another reason is that if you take a keep, enemies can't port anymore. It means no enemies for a while in Agramon. You can be sure that without port no solos or small group will come out (10 mins to reach agra just to get zerged by zubasa gang is so fun), and even for a fg it's not fun that you have to raid a keep back to play rvr. Atm it's just useless to raid keeps/towers, the only utility could be to take one tower to open DF. I am assuming direct control.

I don't like sieging not because I have to carry a ram but because it's super dull? You just sit around for 10-30mins pressing swing. If some defenders show up it's just a matter of who brings the most ppl. So either zerg or get zerged. Not really my cup of tea.

I think on the current map setting the number of soloer during primetime is just defined by the number of stealthers. I you want to call a zerg of stealthers, soloer at all. ./wave dam & add. Greetz Nes Inactive

I remember in OF that you could give guards new weapons, for example I gave all the glow weapons I had left to guards of me guilds keep then for the cool effect ![]() Another thing that was in Of and I liked..when you as a guild owned a keep you as member of that guild got extra rps/bps in rvr. ![]() |

How about just giving more realm bonuses for taking keeps? The bonuses we have now are hardly incentive go capturing keeps.
In my opinion keeps are the heart of RvR. Without them DAOC would just be a generic PvP MMO. But we need bonuses to make it worthwhile. I like the idea of medals, but I also like the idea of giving bonuses higher than a meager 2% which isn't even noticeable. |
