Personally, I can't say I am a big fan of putting xp bonuses out in rvr areas. My chief concern on this is that it does support 'griefing' in a sense. Now one can argue the point that it isnt really griefing if someone purposefully goes out into a hostile territory to level in, but I beg to differ on this perspective a bit. I think griefing in this particular situation would revolve around groups / individuals purposefully going over to experience spots to kill levelers. I think i tis pretty frustrating when your only options for better experience is to go out into the rvr zone to be killed by people who are just out to pick on lower level/weaker opponents.

It seems to me that this just promotes unecessary frustration to the leveler/starting person and annomisity between this person and other players in the opposite realms. For a community such as uthgard, rivalry is to be expected but is it really necessary to add in factors that spur true anger between individuals? I think the xp bonuses can/should be done in a different manner, but Blue commented that this was only the beginning of the changes so I will just refrain from offering any further criticism on the matter until I see what the staff has in mind.

Well Zip, it's not like we have removed the previous opportunities to gather xp... we just added a new one... so it's everyones decision to go there and put himself in danger or not to do so. We also increased the exp for PvP kills which should make leveling via RvR in Thid quite attractive too.

If you walk into the frontiers to level up and expect not to be killed because you're not 50 (other ppl. cant see that - everythings yellow except grays for the other realm) you're pretty stuipid - no offense ment. It's obvious that you can't walk into a war zone and hope, that your enemy will make you some tea and cookies.

There are dangers in the frontiers and these are the price for the exp bonus. Some are willing to pay the price others are not. So you've got to leave the decision to every player himself. This game is about killing enemies. If you don't like that the problems not with uthgard but with daoc itself ;)

Presto, I don't disagree with any of the things you mention hehe. I believe that just xp bonuses alone is not sufficient. I just think there should be some options given to the leveler to not be 'farmed' or targeted specifically while out there. For example, offering the ability to have friendly guard patrols run through exp spots and Tieing these guard patrols to keep ownership. I.E you own anearby keep/tower then your friendly patrols run through there. If you don't then hostile patrols or no patrols run through there. I just think there should be some system setup so that people cant just go kill levelers all the time at their whim, but at the same time making it so that there is risk involved with leveling in the zone. Maybe perhaps also add exp spots not covered by patrols so that people can go to without patrol aggro and while there they run the 100% risk of being killed by players since there is no protection in such spots.

Basically what I am saying is that some versatility is needed in the system so that people don't feel like they are being targeted for easy pickings (even if they are) without any options on their part to defend themselves aside from just not going there in the first place. There should be a bit of risk on both ends of the spectrum in my opinion both to the attacker and to the leveler as well as adding another dynamic to rvr (keep/tower ownership actually having tangible value).

Anything that can be done to diffuse hostility between each player/person on uthgard should be looked at in my honest opinion. I just dont see how it can be benificial to have a situation where players are angry with other players for 'griefing.' I think that adding in some buffers and a more entertaining behavior to the xp system will disperse such tensions into the game mechanics and not towards players as individuals.

The levelflow has its problems and we're definatly going to change a few things. The next step will be the introduction of several level 45+ quests. After that we'll aim for a few new systems.
