So what did you 2031 players do different after server upgrd

So that you could log in? I could not get passed "Connect to authentication server."

ping server.uthgard.org

If you see 5.x.x.x then reboot your computer or ipconfig /flushdns to get to the new server.

In worst case your router still delivers the old IP then use 8.8.8.8 as dns server in your network settings.

or you COULD have just rebooted your PC and router.
