I was thinking about all my old school DAOC times and tend to only remember the good. Then a realization hit me. One day soon I'm going to be 50 Full template with perfect gear and looking to start "playing the game." Now when I think back about the good times it means me rolling in Emain on a assist train dropping fools. The realist in me understand that this time around means I'm going to be camping APK, MPK or DL trying to get in a group to prove my skill. That being said. Which 8 man malee class will be the most under played (well) and in high demand. I'm open to realm.

(TLDR) Help me pick a Malee class so when I'm fully template I can sit at PK and beg for a chance to prove my worth!

The combination of "underplayed" AND "highly demanded" wont exist on a server like Uthgard for some time... It will be very crowded and every popular class will be played alot (probably even some not so popular).

All I can do is give you a list of (what I think are) melee classes, that will always be demanded:

Midgard - Savage, Berserker, Warrior, Skald

Albion - Armsman, Mercenary

Hibernia - Hero, Blademaster

So as you can see, every class with the determination ra, plus skald (needed once in most mid grps for speed).

Thanks for an informative answer. I know which are Det malee classes. I was curious at this patch level did a typical realm or comp run more of one type of malee. Cheers

For what will be wanted in 8v8 groups the most, this is my opinion:

Zerk = Sav > Warrior
BM > Hero
Arms > Merc

While Arms does more burst damage, an Arms will run out of endurance much faster than a Merc ... while a Merc will still be able to get a few styles out, and unstyled dmg is quite nice too, an Arms may be a bit in the backlog due to high delay on polearms.

Anyways, a mixture of both in group, with endu4 pots (the 1000 skill ones with drop mats), and you're pretty much set. Endu 3 pots may be a bit too low, for sprinting + styles (though I had quite some fun with the lower pots in that BG on lvl 34, or 35, but yeah, was a bait char only anyways, or which sane person plays an avalonian Arms? ;) ...).
