I was curious about some of the statistics on uthgard, now that the herald is pretty much frozen. It turns out that if you add up every guild realm point listed on the herald rankings (of the top 2000 guilds), you get 13.72 billion rps. Here is the distribution of GRPs vs guild rank:

Image

Assuming a constant 5krp's/hr, this takes about 313 years of rvr playtime to accrue. This number should include any rps by characters that were deleted, so long as the guild remained listed on the herald. And, of course, this does not count RPs that were collected by unguilded players (probably a smaller fraction). Of these 13.72 billion RPs, the top 10 guilds make up ~17.9%.

Here is a partial sample of the top 5000 individual players by rank:

Image

The top 1000 players' (~7L3 and above) total RPs account for just over 1/3 (34.3%) of these 13.7 billion RPs. The top 100 players' total RP's account for ~8.5%, while the top 10 have ~1.4%. Holsten's RPs alone account for ~0.2% of the 13.7 billion.

Number of players per realm rank. Note the log vertical scale and the peaks at 2L2, 3L2, and 4L2:

Also note that there is a large number of characters that never make it past 2L2. Of the ~76,000 characters listed with rank greater than 1L1, only about half (51.5%) make it past 2L2 and only 14.4% make it past 4L2. The early-game is a major bottle-neck.

Plot of the advancement rate for each realm level. Significant dips in this plot indicate large barriers to advancing in realm levels. For example, the 76% at 4L3 means only 76% of players that make it to 4L2 will advance:

The left skew on the 4L3 peak indicates that even players that make it past 4L3 struggle to advance. In fact, after 4L3 the advancement rate doesn't get restored to its ~95% "baseline" until about 7L0. Compare this to the right skew on the 2L3 peak, which says that players in this category struggle to make it up to 2L3, but once they pass that barrier advancement is easier.

Cheers,
Sturlek

You're right; changed to 5krps/hr, though that's still probably generous for most.

Doubtful. I'd have to find a lot of free time to come back to this game, and even before that I'd probably try other games first :D Hope you're doing well though!
