Just got started with Uthgard,

Hello =)

And am learning that I pretty much don't remember anything about the game I once loved for 6 years and then never shut up about when playing every MMO thereafter.

One of the things that kept me interested in Daoc so long, was playing in the BG's. I was addicted to this, so much fun, Had plenty of Twinks in the Classic Cluster on DAOC and would like to do this again.

Now, problem is, everything is probobly completely different from how I played so, any help is appreciated.

What BG's are usually NOT populated, like at all.

Which BG would a Scout do well in? (I ask cus I remember some BG's your spec was better and some it was gimpy)

How is Polarms Armsmen in this game?
When I had my fully twinked Molvik Armsman Capped in RP and Gear, he hit like a truck and could kill stealthers all day long
Would love to replay that.

How about a friar in BG's? I liked playing my Friar as a Stealther hunter ;p

Are there any mods to download to help out with this game?

Any extra little help for someone like me would be greatly appreciated =)

All are pretty populated but Wilton seems to be the least popular out of the 3.

Maybe Thidranki because that's when you finish AT'ing Bow. :P

How is Polarms Armsmen in this game?
Good. Very underrated.

I've only played my Friar in Braemar so far but it did pretty well there.

Are there any mods to download to help out with this game?
A custom UI like BobsUI could be useful.
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> You have to be a c*** to be awesome at daoc

The group that runs up against them can't kill them fast enough because smite clerics have sooooooo many tools at their disposal combined with decent ranged damage with 8 of them dudes doing it!

What Austerim stated above his most of what I would say.

BG's do better in population then Frontier RvR. Most of the times there is plenty of action to be had in all of them. I would say Wilton is the least populated of all of them though.

For scout I really couldnt say. As Austerim pointed out, you dont stop auto training till you get into Thid so that may be the best bet. However, if you didnt auto train at all I would think you would do fairly well at Braemar and maybe even Wilton because most assasins are auto training stealth and rangers will also be auto training. Of course this would hurt you if you went out to frontiers RvR or even in Thid.

Pole Arms is a very good class and as Austerim also said, VERY underrated.

Friars are great for any sort of solo game. PvE or RvR. As you stated, they are very good as stealther hunters.

I dont use any Mods but Bob's UI is popular here as well as a few others. I believe Pythion has a different one he uses.

just important to point out, that here on Uthgard is no /xp off or /rp off.. so nobody can stuck on one BG. But you can have a lot of Fun in all 3 bgs here for sure :)

The Old Battlegrounds are in development and world build stages. So our Bg player community will get to experience these Old Battlegrounds with a surprise in store.

You just broke my freakin heart..

I... this.. may be a deal breaker.

Oh, for Scout, I dont really remember much of the specs and stuff , but I really dont recall what you mean by the auto training. something like you just dont put point into something and its base lvl increases or something like that?

IMO you need a raid toon as your first toon not a stealther. Eventually you will cap out of BG and end up in DF/Emain. You NEED to have charges in this game to be competitive as a stealther. Those charges can only come from raiding and a scout isn't really needed in any raids except for TAJ2 and even then its nice to have but not necessary.
There will be a group of people out there who will want this realm to be entirely Mythic-like. Exactly like vanilla, drop rates/xp rates, basically everything and you will not be able to please them unless it is exactly like vanilla.

These people have their nostalgia goggles on so tight it's cutting off the bloodflow to their brain and they believe that vanilla was perfect and nothing was wrong with it.

pretty much your right. I believe that as long as you don't put points in bow every 4 levels you get a point for free and by lvl 48 you should have like 12 base points. (total of 77 extra points that you have so spec)

P.S. Bg's are awesome, but on uthgard they try to encourage frontier rvr (thats my impression anyway)
First: you must level to at least 30 just to do braem (lvl 20-35, 1st bg)
second: leveling take FOREVER, unless you run a set group with friends/elite players... so i wouldn't count on just making a lot of alts to stay in bg's b/c you will spend endless hours just leveling them up, and then only get a few hours of fun bg time.
Third: as already mentioned there is no /xp off OR /rp off, so you will rank out of bg eventually no matter what :( (as for /xp sure you can kill yourself to lose xp... but rps can't be lost)

To be honest I'm not playing daoc currently (school and all), but when I did it takes A LOT of effort and time make it anywhere in this game... I mean A LOT of time.. A LOT. So if you loved playing daoc as much as i did you'll stick with the game, but don't be surprised when all the little annoyances (such as the whole bg issue) push you over the edge and make you take breaks from the game. Of course i'll prolly be back on this game soon... it's too damn addicting even with it's problems ><
Battle Druids quite possibly the best class EVER, they need to be fixed on uthgard!!!!

I hope it's something custom instead. Because...
Abermenai : lvl 15-19
Thidranki : lvl 20-24
Murdaigean : lvl 25-29
Caledonia : lvl 30-35

Battlegroud for higher level ? Not sure it existed in 1.69.
Last one was Leirvik, and max lvl 43, and it was introduced in version 1.70, with wilton, braemar. We won't have the 1.70 BG according to the list given by Rajnish... so no lvl 36+ BG ?

I hope that the end of Thidranki will bring more players into end game RvR, because atm, you can't find the fun of quick action of BG in frontier zones.
