Yes, I agree nobody should have a "special" status, but being on server for years, being an honest player and someone who does not scam, cheat, insults or whatever counts for nothing? You know, only psychopaths see the world in black and white...normal and reasonable people understand that every truth in this universe is somewhere in the shades of grey.

If he was a happy person, he would not have done what he did in the first place. Only insecure, unhappy, pathetic people can do that. If you are happy and fulfilled in your life, you have no need to harm others or scam them in any way. Yes, he might have a few laughs, I agree with you on that, but in the long run he's just another piece of human trash walking this earth and stealing oxygen from people who actually deserve it.

From a human perspective i say restore comet, from a developer perspective of the server i would not, as everyone will demand such favor then.

I am the more human guy, so i would restore him... but i can understand if you will not.

No i dont agree with this, someone like him that was here for more than 6 year, never had a bad behavior and is appreciated by everyone should have his character back, its not like ramboz who deleted his char himself, someone did it to him. The time invested in a 10L9 char is not the same at some rr5 char, sorry

This is typical of the kind of hypocritical bullcrap that exists in this community.

If there are rules, stick to them or they are pointless.

What you should do is emend the rules and create a function, so that if it is proven that your account was hacked by a third party (easily tested by IP Address), you can use a character recovery process to get it back. However, the length of time to wait for the recovery would be dependent on available GMs and existing workload.

To those who say "but i can fake my IP blah blah"; great but what would be the point?

you can spoof you IP just to delete your own character?

If we can PROVE an account is really HACKED we do restore chars.

where "self deleted" means "deleted by self fail" as for acc sharing and so on...

No, it means that the owner of the account had no intentions to delete the char himself - he just got screwed. It has been verified that in this case the char cancellation is a direct consequence of the account being stolen, therefore the char should be restored.

To stop that discussion, due to the vast amount of time invested in Comets char we will restore Comet with skills but naked.
He knows himself that it was his mistake to trust the wrong guys and sharing his account data. Normally I will have no tolerance if account data was shared so don't count on a restore if it happens to you.

Word to all:
Stop sharing your account with others! Only yourself as account owner is responsible for the account. We don't take the responsibility from you to secure your login data. Anything that happens to your account in case you shared it with the wrong guys is final.
