i agree with holsten on this topìc, already did it with Playboys about 15 months ago, the guild included some vanquish/MB and the core group was comming from old Purga server, bard menta ench druid druid bm bm warden, in 16 days the guild was already roaming emain then bard quit the game due family issues, then ench, and disbanded after. the thing is it is more than possible to build a FG emain crafted and all in 2 weeks from lv 1. |

As you said: Vanquish and MB were in there, we speak of clueless players without buddies ![]() |

Wow. After reading this and various other threads, I actually wanted to comment on some of the statements made so far. But then I realized - this is simply impossible. Starting with Lasas opening posts, people started to throw in their own thoughts. And this behaviour is displayed in every other thread. This literally kills every discussion and is quite frankly the reason I can finally understand the staffs reaction - there is simply no pleasing you!
A MMO playerbase is widely heterogeneous. Always. And the human mind is weak to process all your thoughts and suggestions, be they good or bad. What Uthgard needs is a well organized, structured and target-driven problem solving process. There are several techniques to facilitate this process, using this forum and contribute your own story from your very own experience will not help to improve the current situation. Which is disturbing, since the very goal of all your suggestions is to improve Uthgard - in whatever direction that is for you. Starting from here, gather aspects that are important, drill down to the core of the problem. Always driven by what the majority thinks, not what your guts tell you (this aims at staff and the community). If there are points to discuss about, discuss only these points and stay mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustive in your argumentation. Do not spoil threads with your own opinion, but stay focused on the topic, to drill down the core. God, its so ****** exhaustive to read every thread on this forum. Just stay focused. No one cares on what you think is best. The majority needs to be convinced. The majority can be bought in if you just discuss the opening posts points and convince others. Not by filling in random thoughts. OT: Oh yes, I almost forgot: I do agree on Lasa's points. OF is too big to serve the current action. Staff can be flexible with their map selection, so why not adjust it once numbers are low, even if its just a seasonal phenomena? Why punish the people playing in the summer. RAs situation is not fitting the server setting (Charge, PD, u name it). I think most of the people agree on this. In addition, while old RAs were not balanced either, they would provide a great benefit to pugs / newcomers out of two reasons: a) long timers will give low RR groups the opportunity to fights higher RR groups without getting dumped over and over and b) it is easier to get the basics abilities at lower rr and thus being more competetive. If its not possible to implement them, I would also pledge for a customized version. These two aspects are important to improve RvR overall, since it will concentrate the action and attract newcomers. There are several other points that could help, but not the be discussed in this topic. Stay on the topic, discuss the changes suggested by the thread opener. |

And so is NF. But honestly my opinion remains that OF even works with very small amount of players as only certain spots will be used. We see that in the nights when most action concentrates on AMG. In NF you wouldn't have such spots.
Thats why I think the player council is a good thing as discussing issues in a smaller group is more productive. It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

I havent played here for very long, but from what I've heard, the action concentrated very much on Agramon when it was in place? Maybe I just got that info wrong.

I could show you complaints about missing hotspots in agramon so that you had to run circles and miss the others. We tried to place a keep in the middle of Agramon to make it a hotspot but that didn't work out well too for some reason. Without instant teleports it didn't really work. Bridges were spots where solo's tried to catch some players but then you have 3 of them and it was also time intensive to reach once you died (depending on keep situation). I remember many saying that some FG's dominate Agramon and it doesn't allow room for small man and solos. OF with some tweaks can work. As soon as Hibs have more options to get to action and keeps have more meaning it will improve. It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

I agree 100% with all of your post EXCEPT this part. Old RA's change nothing for "Pugs" or casual players. If anything it hurts them more. Now (with New RA's) a champion or VW can at least spec determination and get in a 8 man group if he's played well. With old RA's that wont be happening to much since they dont have access to determination. Also, more people will be MORE RA dependent and avoid action till purge and other RA's are up. It also makes it harder on lower RR players since now you have to get passives like Aug Dex/Str/Qui in order to get simple RA's like Mastery of Pain or Dodger. You also have to get things like tireless and regeneration or you wont have any end regen or health regen, both of these are given for free now. ![]() All going to Old RA's does is make some classes more powerful and weaken others. In other words, same problems just different classes having them. Typical case of grass is greener on the other side of the fence. That happens alot around here. There is a lot of truth in this post |

It should work like this:

Joined: Jan 23, 2012 19:48 First lvl 50 : last week. It tooks me 5 months, with a real casual playstyle ![]() Well, I stayed in BG until RR cap, i also up tailoring to 950 (and some other craft 400~600), and a 43 toon on other realm. But even if i had only xp on my main, i really doubt that i could up 50 in two weeks of casual style play. 2 weeks means about 15 hours of play. Maybe u can reach lvl 40 in 15 hours with an optimized xp group, maybe... but that's not the play style of new players. And i really doubt u can do 40 level in 15 hours in a xp team, without preparing anyting in advance. By the way, i didn't find this slow xp so boring. ![]() RIP : Ectoplasme

i was a slow xper too ![]() ![]() my first 50 took me some months too at fastest time it took me one month or so. but when i started i had very small time contingent/frustration level but somehow i found the new world exciting.
i don't think this is possible. it takes 1h to get lvl 5 on uth ![]() |

Hi- I don't play alot and I skimmed through posts lately and found out about a player council option that is being used. My question is are the members of this council posted any where so we know who to give feed back to?
thanks |
|
the player council has just started and is yet far from complete on the player side. The GMs are all in and we already have a lot of healthy discussions without any flames and QQ so far, way better than the normal forum. Where every thread has a complete other content than the topic after max. 4 posts... This could even work a lot better than i thought.
As i see it the members so far are: Luydor, Rector, Inotor and myself (so best is to spam luydor via PM with your feedback ![]() As i tend to have no grudge against anyone i would invite all that are nominated. But we have to be picky with the players invited, and have to respect the GM's preferences to some point to keep the discussions healthy. Still we try to be neutral and stand up for the whole community as best as we can. I hope the community understands that and gives us the time to prove this can work, even if the council is not selected by a voting. Thanks Holsten for the reply. My one suggestion would be to have some ppl on the council that are "newer" to the server. This way you would get feed back from ppl who just start here , the GMs and those who have been here for years.
I like the idea ![]() |
