Hi all,

this topic should be to review the current emain keep system (EKS).
Well, I begin. At first it should be said that EKS's base is a good thing.
Even though there are a few disturbing things.

Keep upgrade & hookpoints:

At the moment the keep upgrades pretty fast up to lvl8. In my eyes
the biggest problem is the auto-upgrade. You have nothing to invest
(raw materials/gold/bounty points). Hookpoint siege weapons face the
same problem.
So, over the time you get an impressive stronghold which can only be
raided by a group and a big bunch of time and have nothing to do than
wait.

Suggestion:

The claim system should be done in a more live like way. A raiding party
raids the keep for its realm (no guild autoclaim). To claim a keep you
can use the command /gc claim. /gc claim takes bountypts per hour of the
claiming guild depending on the current keep-lvl.
An interaction window should be added to the keep lords including upgrade
keep and door. The costs for an upgrade should be payable in gold or guild
bountypts.
Unclaimed keeps stay lvl1 keeps with the weakest defense.

Hookpoints: Currently you can setup siege weapons without any costs.
There should be at least the price which is needed to build the field
counterpart (field trebuchet/field ballista prices).

Forces of RvR/Peace: This system should be disabled. It is just disgusting
and buggy. Since this system is live I have seen no keep at maximum lvl.
If the suggestions are integrated there is also a must to disable forces of
rvr/peace/... because from this point on players have to pay gold/BP.

Intention of these changes:

I think giving players the ability to claim keeps and to upgrade them into
powerful strongholds could lure more players to emain.
The idea of paying bountypoints to claim ensures that a keep can't be
held easily over a long time. If a guild has no more bountypoints the
keep gets degraded into a realm unclaimed keep and can be raided
more easily by an opposing realm.

Costs for hookpointed siegeweapons disable players to shoot down towers
all the time. They will think about hooked siege weapon invests a bit more.

I agree with Sethors analysis of the current situation.

Perhaps there are better solutions than his proposal, but it is better than trying to Crush keepdoors all day long.

What about making tower-siege-weapons controlled by a char and not as an automatic system ?

It isn't a good idea, because it is at least as boring as bashing doors..
