RPs lead people to make gameplay decisions based on what will get them RPs. This gives many people a sense of progression, but IMO, if you want progress in your real life, it's in the real world, not in some number that goes up. Without RPs, people just do what brings them the most entertainment and those players who have long since grown bored with the game, but who look at the number go up and think "yay, my life is going somewhere", should just quit.

Why remove RPs? It's just another source of imbalance that really serves no purpose except satisfying that strange desire in people to see a number go up, a bit like how seeing your bank account go up might be the only thing keeping you at your current job rather than a more enjoyable, but lesser paid, job. The only difference is that RPs buy us things that require nothing to be produced; if we could just "create" food, I think that would be better.

Do I personally care if this change comes in? No, and I know it won't, but I find the reason that people enjoy RPs to be somewhat troubling.

Flame on.

I'm not interested in seeing it be changed, but I am interested in seeing why people would care if it were changed. Flames can be revealing, but I hope to see more eloquent responses than "qq more" etc.

It's never been that important to me other than getting to a 'certain' point that allows me enough abilities to solo effectively. That's usually no higher than RR5 which, at least on blue servers, doesn't take much more than a week or two. After that it's just really a kind of gauge of how well my night went, 100k is a good night, 10k is either a really bad night or there was no action out.

Yep, but many people forget the features of the game like siege, imho its fun defend a keep or conquest it, many people consider it a waste of time because they dont take the rps (epix need :? ).

Most people consider smashing mobs as non-challenging and pointless and thats why noone wants to siege regardless of the prizes...

Because there arent people who defend the keeps, the siege should be the peak of the rvr, with endless battle and much rps and kill(if u play only for that :?, maybe its better change game).

WAR proved (to me anyway) that endless keep battle is boring.

The no RP system could be nice, but some RAs are needed for fights to last more than 30 seconds.

Because there is no way to defend a keep. Before you get there its already taken.
