Exactly. And as a counterweight to the increased speed, what should we give? Primary speed for secondary speeder classes to prevent those classes from loosing their speed advantage against others? It's a vicious circle, always. And that's exactly the problem with custom balancing issues. You will never get to an end.

Nayru, you should read my suggestion for a solution to this. I will quote myself to save me some time. I already worked 2 hours on that post so I'm not going to start all over. ;)

Zarkor wrote:Homeland and smallman/solo travelling:
[Feedback]: [ + ] Travelling from the home keep to the enemy's portal keeps with speed 5 or 6 is definately fine. The run is not too long and not too short, definately since it is still an RvR zone and there can always be action right where you are running.

[ - ] Travelling (from the home keep) as a non-speeder class, or not being grouped with one is a different story. Even though there are hasteners, it still is a long and rather boring journey to your destination. There's hardly any possible enemy around because most of your targets would not even have hastener speed and just do not make it much further than the zoneborder of the zone after the one the ported in.

This is another demotivating factor which deserves a solution. It is also again caused by the lack of RvR population compared to the old live population, for which this map and system was created.

[Suggested solutions] A) Implement a horse route from the main border keep. The horse will drive you at normal non-personal horse speed trough the frontier, following the roads that are there. This horse will drop you off a at a keep near the zone where the enemy teleport keeps are located.

In order to prevent this horse route from locking down the RvR between the drop-off point and the enemy portal keeps, horses should drop their players once they are attacked.

[Argumentation to the solution] A) This will create a new, faster and more exciting method of getting into the action zone for non-speeder grps and soloers. It would be slower and more dangerous than running with speed 5 or 6 in a straight line, but it would still be an attractive way to get into RvR since it is still faster than running.
Not to mention it will create a main route for smallman groups or soloers since they have more chance of meeting enemies of their own size than meeting a full group on horseback. In other words, this would concentrate and slightly separate the smallman action a bit in the zones that are otherwise too big to really roam trough with this RvR population.

In addition, this will make it possible also for players without speed 5 or 6 to get into the actual action zone in a timespan of 5-6 minutes if you are not attacked. Of course if you are attacked, you are on the right spot anyway since you have found enemies, or they have found you. This is faster than on foot, but slower than speed 5 in a straight line, which creates a perfect inbetween that's usable and comfortable for smallman and solos.

Finally, horse routes probably are the most classic solution possible

This would provide a counter measure to the 5 minute port time since this would provide the opportunity for the home realm to also reduce their 'getting to the action' time. Horses fit in the classic style of OF and not free of danger when you are dropped upon attacks.

Please consider this.

I hope staff will remain passive to whiners this time. You listened them too much.

Horse route will be extremely against stealthers again, because personally i will camp the map passages ( not only the milegates ) and hourse routes wont help us.

How will they not help you? They will create a possibility to go to RvR quicker than running with hasteners speed for the homeland stealthers and will create an more easy to camp route for enemy stealthers. Thus creating an easier hotspot besides the MGs.

Please explain why they won't help you. I've explained why they will.

Edit: It's insulting and unrespectful to call me a whiner while all I try to do is try to give feedback and constructive criticism and suggestions to improve this server and the effort from the staff. I think you should take a look at yourself and see how you are trying to flame people that do the effort and spend their time in trying to make this work.
There's a difference between whines and feedback which you are clearly unable to tell apart. (saying: "when do we get NF back" is a clear whine, saying "ok, this is what I think needs some more work" is feedback and a suggestion)

If you continue these unnecessary flames, I won't hesitate to call for mod assistance. Your disrespect is below par.

imo , a horse route would be good and bad,...

in gerenal its good ,...

good cause ,...

-you re running like 8-10minutes
-as a non hib you can't use the afk time
-as a non hib to get to TK you just need a average time of 4min
( 8min porting , but u can be lucky and be portet in less than 1min or really need 7 or 8 min)
--->
here i see the *real* disadvantage for hibs..
(and albs which are willing to go to hadrians if solo players start going there ,.. well if hopefully they will,....)

but It would be unfair for all non stealth classes ,..

-stealthers would have a almost 100% safe way to get into action,...
(they just steatlh before handing over the ticket and ride all the way steatlhed)

so if a horse route , then plz add one on that you can't be stelthed , if possible ,.. or dont add it xD^^

just my few thoughts about it ,
hard to find a solution

On the contrary, i can NOT kill riding enemies. I'm not as fast as their horse. If i want to camp the roads, riding enemies will pass me without me having any chance to kill them. That is bad for soloers or smallgrps. Stop thinking the game in your PoV.

What are you asking is like implementing horses in NF , so that enemy could pass the bridges with low changes that someone can kill them.

Dont people drop of off the horses when taking damage?

And could you not try tp PA them with str/con debuff and Viper3 Lifebane?
Wouldnt that alone kill at least the casters?

Good thinking mate, this has slipped my mind. Of course stealthing on those horses should be impossible.

You didn't even properly read what I said, however still try to make it look like my proposal is worthless. Again, stop talking nonsense, it's really starting to annoy me.

I'll do one more effort to clear things up...

I've always said combat or attacks should drop the driver instantly. This combined with not being able to stealth on the horse so that it's not possible to sneak trough the zones, highway style. Any decent stealther should be able PA them on the horse, especially since the route would always be the same this will create a lot of opportunities for smallmans, soloers and stealthers to find smaller incs outside of the well occupied emain. For the driver itself this will be a risk, indeed, however you take that horse at your own risk to get to the portal keep zone faster.

This can be made sure of. I've experienced it on Uthgard before. Should be no problem.

First off all, Thanks for ur time and work ;)
I wouldnt mind of 10+min port timer, if there would be a bindstone in each Portalkeep/Emain....
Would reduce the porting time for longer sessions, especially for solos/stealther... (maiby reduce pk camping, cause of sick)
Basicly u wouldnt loose the porting "zerg" effekt, u are obviously looking for ^^ (cause there are alway missing grp members ;) )
and the comment. this is no i50 u got to invest ur time ( wait 0-8mins every run) is quite irrealistic ^^ this is a game (good one btw) but basicly it should be possible to go on with real life AND have fun in game ;) (without playing 6+h a day)

again thx for ur work/time/ Herz-Blut :P

should be no flame only comment ^^

good night ^^ hf

You ask me to explain, then you say i talk nonsense? Dude, if someone see things different (and it seems you will bring arguments like they are "talking nonsense") that doesnt mean they have to reply to you something. It was the last time when i answered you anything because you are a waste of time. I will bring my arguments if i can to the Uthgard Staff not to you, like i stated my point of view some posts ago, they need to understand it not you.

I said why the horse route is a wrong thing imo, and i doubt this

Locked

Tweaks will happen, have some pathience, in a month (when you are all cooled down too) you can reopen a topic like this and tweaks can be discussed

until then:

Have a cup of tea, play a little, figure out good and bad features, and come back in a month and tell us about it

atm it is too early to say anything about what needs to be done and not to be done
