So, I was just wondering if this server has any plans to make pbae not cast-able through walls ever? It's really annoying to have someone with one of the most powerful spells in the game able to nuke you without being hit.

Also, on a slightly different note, wtf is up with that jump shooting/casting? It's bad enough that they have the crennelations to hide behind, but that they can jump to get off a shot/spell with TOTAL impunity? /clap

Well jump shooting/casting is because line-of-sight is measured from the feet, not the eyes. You can have an enemy in plain sight, but if there's a wall waist high or so in front of you you have no line-of-sight.

That's why I don't mind jump shooting/casting. If it was measured from the eyes it would be a lot more realistic (a lurikeen should have a different LOS on a keep wall than a troll, realistically), but it won't ever happen.

I think PBAE going through walls has to do with lack of collision? I never knew the actual reason. I know we can run through each other like ghosts so I assumed PBAE through walls was part of that.

It's measured from a point at about the heads height, or maybe a little bit lower. Definitely not the feet.

Live fixed the PBAE through walls without adding collision, so that's not it.

And where it's measured from doesn't really matter to me. Someone that can stand behind a crenellation and ready their bow, then jump and fire, with nothing being able to hit them back, is a bit silly. As long as the enemy is outside the keep, they're invulnerable to all but a stealther climbing in.

It's not the head or lower, or we wouldn't have the line of sight issues we have on top of keeps. Maybe it's not the feet, maybe it's the middle of the body.

True ,PBAOE spells that used to hit you if u d stand behind a wall got solved on oficial servers with a patch in TOA add on, and was a subject to discuss because there was hard for atackers to take down a keep defended by pbaoe casters for example, and so on , would be a good thing to fix it here aswell.

Offical servers are work on a very different base then freeshards.

I doubt it will be fix to livelike (like pets route/moing points). Too many work/time.
