Ram damage and diminutive ones

Some people told me that if you create a war ram by putting togherer 3 diminutive siege rams instead of using 3 standard siege rams, the war ram generated will do less damage.
Is that true?

on a related note, can anyone explain how to deploy diminutive ironwood siege rams purchased with BP from svasud faste? i try to use my siegcrafting skill called "deploy diminutive ironwood siege ram" but the skill insisits i dont own one, even if i have the diminutive ironwood siege ram and all tools needed.
