I am currently still logged on. but a lot of people after they have closed their browser somewhere after 19:00 CET today are unable to login to the account / the game. I understand its a google API thing?
I expected a post here. but there isn't one..
Can anybody give more details on the problems they are having?

have google link that shows me play button
now when it play I see

Same 502 Bad Gateway error for me when trying to access https://www2.uthgard.net/account/ , or just 'could not fetch login token' popup when clicking on 'play' or 'account chooser' under the '+' options.
While i often get the latter anyhow, a /dns flush command can usually resolve that. Around the end of last year i began having frequent login issues related to DNS resolution. It had happened occasionally over the years, but lately it's been so common i just automatically flush the cache every time i go LD. Changing DNS providers made no difference. Neither did following the DNS-related suggestions from the browsers i've tried: Opera and Firefox.

So Update: Just tried Chrome again, hoping i might see other info. Both Chrome and Firefox kick me back to https://www2.uthgard.net/account/signin after two-factor identification appears to complete successfully. I've been using Opera more lately, and my game account seems still logged-in to the server on this browser, but i suspect if i logged out and went back to the server login page i'd get the same circle as i'm getting in Chrome and Firefox. (The forum account is different, of course, and needs to be logged-in again periodically... like if i spend too long editing a post i end up losing it because the forum account got logged-out automatically.)

So when i was getting errors last night and today and saw zero server population reported on the start page, i decided to check here.

show uthgard.net to be up, but that's not that helpful since i already knew this. They don't query the /account/ page even though i specified it in my request.

If someone has access to the site's files, a debug.log or error_log might illuminate what's going wrong, according to what i've been reading.

Will continue to update this reply as i can, if i try new things.

Same issue here, cant login and get a 502 bad gateway when i click on Manage Account.

Maybe someone here knows more about API?

What Gremon said combined with reading the post below makes me think that the problem is with changes made by Google, but i don't know enough about the area to enter useful search terms to educate myself on the subject:
