Im leveling a Thane and have a question about hammer styles.
Here Im using the Ruiner style (Fatigue : Medium, Damage : High, according the character builder and the tool-tip in line): Then I use the Provoker style (Fatigue : Low, Damage : Low, according the character builder and the tool-tip in line) I made this test on several mobs (only Blodfelag Windcaller), they were all of the same level, at the same location. I just noticed a small variance in the damages but, always the damages done by the Ruiner style were lower than the damages done by the Provoker style. According informations gathered on the web about these two styles, Ruiner is HIGH dmg, Provoker is LOW dmg. But the tests prove the opposite. Why? Before opening an [useless?] issue in the tracker, i ask here... Thanks. We are here to help *you*

it's all about the growth rate
10 Ruiner 0.41 15 Provoke 0.58 i like this page pretty much and if u search a bit trough it u might find some deffinations and explanations on how it's calculated. dont use the tool tip as decent advice of which style to use best, always compare the growth rate for best outcome ![]() http://talsyra.tripod.com/daocmechanics ... tyles.html |

Don't forget the penalties too! While dealing more damage you also weaken your defenses. This isn't always a huge issue but if you're in a bind these nuances can be effective or detrimental. I.e. you get baf at low health and struggling to stay alive, especially more so with a shield.

After taking an inf to 47, I'm fairly certain defence penalties don't affect evade/parry/shield...just the chance for the mob to straight miss.

Thank you all for your answers.
its impressive to see that after 15+ years this kind of false information is still displayed in the game. if I had opened an issue in the tracker, I would have had (or not...) the key-answer of DEV: it works as intended ! We are here to help *you*

I enjoy that our alliance has most regular players on the server. Alliance is my way to get the best info for questions. That said nor everyone is in our alliance or will be. Same for the other realms. I think/ broad or /advice is critically needed to address questions like this in game. This would effectively remove the need for people wait for a forum reply than an instant one in game. I've been playing this game a long time and enjoy sharing what I know, but the outlets for doing so in game are fairly restricted.

I totaly agree with that and dont understand why these commands (/reg, /broad & /advice) are not working. According a post from Blue (i've no time to search it through the forum) players have enough way to communicate with guild, alliance, BG and ChatGroup. But how communicate between Alliances, Guilds not part of the same Alliance, Guilds without alliance (Alliances already full or dont need to add small guilds), solo players ? We are supposed be part of a Realm and supposed to play for the Realm, but cant communicate with each other.... It is the role of the players to keep calm on chats. They can /ignore the disturbers and close a channel, at least the time that the troublemakers get tired and disappear. The staff does not have to manage the chats. Ah, I understand! its the same communication system used by the Staff: SILENCE ![]() We are here to help *you*
