I don't know how to resolve this issue, but I know I am not alone in it either. I am getting real tired of this crap where the launcher runs this stupid "patching client" crap when there are no patches to be had, and it takes literally forever and a day + it often crashes during the stupid process.

How can I fix this? And while I am at it, how do I fix the loading time issues between zones? That is driving me up a wall too!

And while I am on my little rant... why does my game just periodically freeze for a few moments and then come back? This is making me more annoyed than anything probably...

Re: Patching
Sounds like your client is not up to date or was modified after the initial patch.
I suggest reinstalling + pathing to Uthgard.

Re: Freeze
I have heared this in combination with some anti virus software.
Please make sure to whitelist the Uthgard Client as well as the Uthgard launcher and check if it will resolve the issue.

Better yet, put a dedicated gaming SSD / operating system on your PC and play without anti virus. Just make sure you're not on perma admin rights ;)

Uthgard 1.0: <Die Lettanten> Ivia - 8L8 Nightshade - Lone Enforcer since 8L1.
Uthgard 2.0: <Illuminated Stormriders> Oxy - Hero; Ivia - Nightshade.

I re-installed everything. I re-patched, then downloaded the launcher which just takes you to Uthgard's website anyways and clicked the play button. Would you have imagined though, that the "Patching Client" screen still appears and instantly fills to 100% and then just freezes again? If I want to sit here for another 5 minutes, it will eventually turn over and launch the game for me though. Surely you have a better work around for this than what I am dealing with?

The issue is that I don't have this problem on other DOL servers when I used to play them, and I never had this issue on retail either when I played that. I've always used mechanical hdds because they are more reliable even though they are not lightning fast.

also, to play without an anti-virus is one of then absolute worst ideas I have ever heard. I understand AV can cause issues, but you're just asking for trouble by not having one.

The 'patching client' message doesn't actually mean that it's patching your client. It's checking to see if your client needs patching and it's taking a LONG time because of some security options you have on your PC. Get a better security package and or white list the launcher and Uth.dll.
