u did:
Change: The focus shield spells Hand of God, Spirit Shell and Nature's Cocoon can now be used against monsters (1.75) (#1302) -------------------------------------------------------------- 1.69 Patchnotes: - Focus Shell spells have been added to the buffing lines of Druids, Shaman, and Clerics. These spells, which can be cast on others as well as oneself, absorb a significant amount of damage from all sources. The caster of the spell will have power drained as the focus shell is held in place, and the shell will drop if the caster moves or takes any other action. The recipient of the focus shell will not be able to take any action or use any ability, including attacking or healing, while the focus shell is up without causing the shell to fail. The recipient of the focus shell (if other than the caster) will be able to move without the shell breaking, provided they remain within a 2000 unit range of the focus shell caster and maintains line of sight. The shell will only protect against realm enemies. can someone enlighten me pls? i dont get it and cant find the report |

That patch says it only works in against players, but it also worked in PvE during the 1.69 era. It was later found to be a bugged, and finally fixed on live (later beyond 1.69). So the bugged version was implemented, despite what the description says it's intent was.
viewtopic.php?f=42&t=28401&start=0 During my Dragon Research I found a video of someone being shelled a few times against Golestandt. Last edited by _Oglop_ on Nov 26, 2013 15:08, edited 3 times in total.

lf 1 healer 1 shaman 3 skalds for dragonraid

Wouldn't be that easy if this set of bugs were addressed. (Specifically the Power-Cost issues) "It's not fair unless I'm winning!" |

thats why i would hurry with the smallmen grp dragon raids

some "fixes" on live was needed.. wtf shell on pve -.- sry thats not really needed even if its "our patchlv"
if our patchlv got a bug "every lv 35 player got freerps for every login" you would not implement it too or not? Langsam und stetig ernährt sich das Murmeltier

Well, it would be considered a "custom" change if they implemented it to not work in PvE. Thus causing even more uproar than this thread.
You must be standing still, doing nothing, in order to be shelled. As stated before, if the Power issues were addressed . . . it would only be used sparingly. Last edited by _Oglop_ on Nov 26, 2013 15:23, edited 1 time in total.

And here I thought they wanted to make PvE harder.

Well, it is a clear bug, that never was intended to work the way we have it now. (as the initial description proves).
The player will only start to cry if this get changed again. At least If they realise in time what a mighty pve toy they have now. ![]() i hope we can keep this when SI goes live. I know a way to farm the king pair with 8, with pve shell... although this was with mana field ML, don't know if it works without ![]() |

The green marked part is what this change was based on. Indeed, this is contradictory. But if it was that clear, they wouldn't have changed this later, would they?
Try it and tell me how fast the shamans power was gone. ![]() |

for me the red marked text is what it want to be.. if its on live not working as they wanted: The shell will only protect against realm enemies. its normal to fix it
![]() i cant understand why this change comes here on Uthard, even if the patchnote is clear enough to discribe that it WAS A BUG ![]() I mean nobody is perfect.. and if they implement a feature for RvR and notice later, that this dont work only on RvR and remove it from PvE its for me human.. and nothing we need to have on Uthgard for our Patchgoal -.- http://www.ign.com/boards/threads/1-73h ... 250443574/ - Found and fixed an issue where the Spirit Shell, Nature's Cocoon, and Hand of God focus shell spells were not working correctly. These spells have now been re-enabled to work correctly, in RvR only, on Pendragon. Please note that this fix is only on the Pendragon server at this time. http://camelotherald.wikia.com/wiki/Pat ... rsion_1.75 Druid, Cleric, and Shaman focus shells will no longer block melee damage in PvE. sry i am playing Shami aswell.. but i think this should be removed from PvE again. Even if its a "custom" Change, because it was A BUGFIX which was noticed "to late" and not a change from "what it should be before" to "what it is later" lg Sami Langsam und stetig ernährt sich das Murmeltier

So prior to 1.73 they disabled them -- the key will be to see when they disabled it -- in 1.69 as a hotfix? or later

with the shell like it is atm... long. It only consumes mana for dmg reduced (a bug, see nayehs report), and doesn't even care how much dmg is reduced. The dragon only does 1 hit without any dmg add, so only 1 mana drain per hit. I guess (without having tried it i agree) a tinder + pom 4 will be enough for the shaman to keep up shell against the dragon (if he has mkl 2, raging power and shaman rr5, which can all be used while shell is up). Still this would take ages and get complicated if the warrior loses aggro... it was exaggerated. Still i think the dragon is doable with 1 fg like: healer, healer, shaman, warrior, 4x skald. Will still take very long, as 2-3 of the skalds have to care for the hounds and can't hit the dragon as soon as the hounds spawn. And the warrior will have to hit the dragon from time to time to keep aggro, those breaking the shell, so he and the shaman need a good communication... sounds challenging, maybe i would be up for a try... even if it still is pve. ![]() Last edited by holsten-knight on Nov 26, 2013 20:12, edited 1 time in total.

is this answer really needed, to decide if we have a "shell in pve" or not? I mean, the Patchnote from 1.69 say clear, that this spell was for RvR only.. and for me it doesnt matter, if it was possible (as a bug) to use it in pve after 1.69 or not.. for me its it is clear not ever be wanted to be a spell for PvE.. but i can search.. http://www.warcry.com/news/view/37822 Hotfix November 2004 (i think it was 1.72c) if i google if you take a look here: http://www.darkageofcamelot.com/content/patch-notes you can see that this patch comes very fast after the "1.69" because only a few month between this patch level.. april 2004 to fix november 2004.. really i like this 1.69 behavior Uthgard is going for.. but i really dislike to go for bugged 1.69 if its so clear as here so yes.. the Hotfix comes after 1.69.. but you can SEE that Version 1.73 Release Notes ► - Catacombs Unearthed - December 7, 2004 New Frontiers Version 1.72a Release Notes ► - October 27, 2004 Version 1.72 Release Notes ► - Fallen Barriers - October 26, 2004 Version 1.71 Release Notes ► - August 24, 2004 Version 1.70 Release Notes ► - Introducing New Frontiers - June 22, 2004 Trials of Atlantis Version 1.69 Release Notes ► - April 14, 2004 its not like 1.69 was live for 1 year ++ .. 1.69 was live for 2 month.. so pls.. remove Focus Shell from PvE btw.. i read Holstens Post while writing here ;P using pots, mcl is working here on sm focus too without loosing focus.. that should only work for raging power ![]() Langsam und stetig ernährt sich das Murmeltier

So April-> November. That's not "very fast" for that time period. It also does matter: If they disabled it during 1.69 it would indicate a major issue.
