Remove classic icon mod

I downloaded the classic icon mod and put the dmm file in daoc portal\mods. I decided I want to go back to the newer icons, so I deleted the dmm file but it didn't change the icons. I also tried to use the Mod Manager, but the classic icons dmm does not show up in the list of mods. I also manually modified the mod.dat in the DAOC folder but that didn't work either. Also tried deleting mft.myp file from the DAOC folder and re-patching... still no luck. Does anyone know how to get rid of the classic icon mod?

The normal process to unpatch is to load modmgr and uncheck it, then click patch. However since you deleted the dmm, it wont show in the list. Run camelot.exe, this will fix your files, then connect back to uthgard and it will repatch the other required mods.

Hi Abydos,
Thanks for the tip, but I am still having the same problem. I ran camelot.exe and let it finish downloading. Then I ran daoc portal, and it patched the normal files (classic, tajendi, etc). When I started the game, same old classic icons. Also, the reason I deleted the mods folder is because the classic icon mod never showed up in the Mod Manager anyway. I went there to remove it, but the only ones listed are the ones that automatically download when daoc portal patches for you. Classic icon dmm was never listed in the Mod Manager, which is why I deleted the mods folder under daoc portal. I could just start all over but am not sure if I need to uninstall/reinstall daoc, the portal, or both. Thanks again for the help so far |

Just zipped the icons from my default folder. Try unzipping them into your Atlantis folder in your UI folder, and see if it works for you. "No legacy is so rich as honesty." - William Shakespeare

Ewwwww
Classic icon mod unzips to atlantis directory? ...I'll have Blue take down that mod immediately and redo it so that it unzips to custom |
|
I just assumed it does. There's only two places it could go, Atlantis (default) or custom. Since I assume the mod is made to be newbie-friendly, it only makes sense to replace the Atlantis icons. Just need another mod to undue it's effects, since it apparently does not remain to be uninstalled. Last edited by Orito on Apr 26, 2013 18:19, edited 1 time in total.

Nah, it unzips to the custom folder. Just to make sure I checked it, and the log file was telling the truth this time. ![]()
Re-installing your custom ui should be enough to correct the errors that the classic icon mod made. |

I modified your code selection there, and that may not be entirely the case. If you look at what I left in your code selection, it's more then just the custom folder that got changed. "No legacy is so rich as honesty." - William Shakespeare

Oh, yeah. The icons folder is used as the default, and will not really be used if you are using a custom ui. Here are the original 1.109 files: http://www.gamefront.com/files/23239347/icons.7z |

Thank you everyone for the help. The culprit was the icon bitmap files in the custom UI directory. The ones in the default directory were still the newer version. I copied those over the ones in ui\custom and everything is back to normal. Thanks again!

Metty also informed me that even if you dont see the mod in the list you can simply click patch and it will undo all previous mods and patch only the checked ones.
