Arf long time so i cant remember:


How it is here on Uth with guard?

If you guard someone you can and block for the person regardless where you are looking to (ofc standing in the correct range)
Is this correct?

than its a bug (non-livelike)

why it is bugged?
guard should only work if the guy who guards looks into the direction of the attacker (i assume like LOS aka 180°)

i will make a proper bugreport when im back from my fishing tour :D

noob question: should a thane get interrupted if he is guarding a healer (for example) and the healer gets attacked ?

you cant guard while casting afaik.
and my 360° guard assumtion is just out of my experience, maybe it is 180°.

Uthgard uses standard block checks for guard. Only dashing defense can enable 360 blocking. Else its 180 degree in front.

I wonder why everyone is speculating instead doing a quick duel ingame.

would need 3 ppl for guard

and x-realm duels?!
i don't wanna risk a ban

I think people mean when "you" guard someone else.
Do you have to face the opponent hitting your the person you guard, or is it okay to face the person you guard.
Or do you BOTH have to face the opponent AND the person you guard?

This is in theory impossible to test on Uthgard, due to arranged fights not being allowed :P

The question was not precise then. The guarder has to face the enemy to block. At least front arc.

To my memory thanes drop their shield (and weapon?) when they cast, at least in the animation, and pretty sure this meant (on Live) that they didn't block.
