Hey i'm new to Daoc private servers i'm having trouble setting it up to work i'd really like to not give up on the game before i can play it i've played private servers of other games and they weren't this frustrating to setup -.-

Getting this message....The client could not connect to the server specified. Either it is not online, or you used a wrong ip/port. If these are not the reason, you may try to update your client to an EU version, as this error is also displayed if the client is not supported by the server.

but it seems not to be the only reason why you cant connect as its not the typical:"you have not been invited to this kind of server" message so you might update your daoc with camelot.exe before you downgrade it with the dll or you have the wrong ip

thus i would suggest to install Daoc Portal. You need .net 3.5+ for it.

I would suggest if you want to acces to the old frontier zones you may should install the classic patch, found here in uthgard forum in downloads section in the left bar.
You can download and usually doubleclick should install it into the daoc portal. If it sais something about mods folder missing, simply create one in the daoc portal directiony and put the files in there. Than go to mods in daoc portal and patch.

I am getting the you have not been invited to this server when i open the game but when i press esc that other message comes up

and on the loading screen what version does it say your client is?

You might have to run the "roll back" patch that Pacific posted a while back. Although from reading, getting it to work depends on whether you have a clean updated client or an additionally updated, updated client

Well i took out the Game.dll i had in there and redownloaded the same one and put it back in and it worked hopefully it keeps working so i guess i'll see u guys in game

Hi! I didn't want to add another thread to this discussion as there seems to be a few floating around, but I can't find exactly what I need so I thought I'd ask here. I am also getting the "not invited" type message. I downloaded the game from the link in the "how to connect" page and follower the rest of the instructions there. I imagine my problem is related to both not having an EU client and perhaps also a too recent client...however I can't seem to find a link to either the EU client or the rollback patch.

The few links I found by googling appear to be dead...so if anyone can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. Thanks for your time!
