Renderer Failed

I've tried to follow all the step by step getting started instructions, though they get a little confusing around the daoc portal patching step. (I never get the two buttons for EU or US). I tried replacing the game.dll as another thread suggested and said it fixed it. I have installed the proper mods, etc. When I try to connect via daoc portal it just immediately crashes and says "Renderer Failed."
I'm on a mac running win xp through VMWare. I read that this could be done successfully, any suggestions? here are is my dxdiag http://www.mediafire.com/file/b9ejzaefhhrs3vn/DxDiag.txt |

Also getting "the patch program failed to launch the game executable" error if i try to hit the play button after running camelot.exe proper.

renderer failed is a problem with the graphics. Have you enabled 3d support in the VM console?

I figured it out. I needed to install VMWare Tools. Newb to Virutal Machines here, heh.
But alas now after the splash screen comes up and the bar fully loads it says that i couldn't connect to the server and that I may need to change my client to the EU version. I don't get the option in File > Settings on DAOC portal for the EU option it just looks like this: http://www.mediafire.com/?cu2f6aq689cpt4x I notice in the getting started guide, the screenshot shows a Labrynth of the Minotaur version, do I need to patch to that? also getting "the patch program failed to launch the game executable." error when i try to run camelot.exe by itself and hit Play. |

ignore the camelot.exe file itself as that's a different issue.
Uthgard does not currently support the latest client version released by Mythic. Therefore, there is a file that i uploaded that holds the 1.109 version of the game.dll file. You will need this in order to connect to the Uthgard servers. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1OSSTJEY just download the above and place into you main game folder. Should be something like "c:\program files\DAoC\" you might want to back up your original game.dll file to something like game.old, just to be cautious. |
