Yo
i m curious about the formula which is used on Uthgard to set the % chance to block in pvp. some say cap is 75% chance to block in pvp, others say it is 60% 1) what is the exact cap for pvp? concerning the % to block caulculation, i got some problems too. looking at what i could grab on the net it seems like the last formula for this is : base chance to block (5%) + (((dext*2) - 100) /40) + (shieldspec /2) which means, with a buffed lvl 50 SCed celt hero rrk 4 (308 dext and 50+14 shield spec) : 5 + (308*2) - 100) /40) + (64/2) = 5 + (616-100)/40 + 32 = 5 + 12.9 + 32 = 49.9% chance to block considering the fact Master Of Blocking 3 adds 10% chance to block, if the % chance to block in pvp is 60% on uth, this toon with mob 3 is 59.9% chance to block 2) is the formula base chance to block (5%) + (((dext*2) - 100) /40) + (shieldspec /2) is the one used on Uthgard? or is another formula is used instead? i really need to know CONCERNING DASHING DEFENSE i would like to know if somebody experienced it. 3) is it like a GROUP GUARD for the time of RA duration? Or can you only block/parry ONCE only for all your groupmates within the RA duration? thx helping, i need only 100% SURE answers mates, please focus on the thread. best regards!!! |

i don't know the exact formulars, but experinece showed me that dashing defense is a real nice RA (a must have for guardtanks) at least 1, 2 is even better, and as norsemen with red dex/qui buff (around 300 dex) you are still not at block cap with mob 4 when more than one opponent attacks your guarded target.
In duels (just blocking 1 opponent) i was at block cap with mob 3, at least mob 4 did not make a difference, it seemed. |

Defence rate on uthgard is lol, against any decent tank u will get blocked/parried/evaded 60%+ of ur attacks even if u are a dw user, if u arnt its more like 80%+.

holsen could you develop a litle bit about Dashing defense experience? answer the question please if you can
Jonah, thx but you don t bring any precise element to answer the questions. |

well, dd works like you block and parry for everyone in your grp as if the opponent attacks you in 1000 range. The "regardless of how many bla bla" only concerns 2 warris having dd up at the same time in grp, which should seldome be the case.

and to give some hint as to how to ra skill a def tank (to minimise the tells i get every day):
- you need deter 5!!!111 (i have been told this wise advice - and most of the time with a lot more "!!!111" - often as as we entered agramon with RR1 as we started here) - LW 1 and then some mob and dd1 and dd2 - as soon as you can afford get soldiers barricade 3 ( but not before 3) - get purge 2 as next - mob 4 you need RR11L5 for this. skill mob and aug dex in between the bigger RR's and always LW1. Passive defense skills ruin this game.

back trolling huh? thought you stopped ;> |

holsen thx for some details on DD, but guys. you dont answer to the questions.
i repeat in any case : what is the official formula used on Uthgard to calculate the % chance to block and what is the cap? is it 60% in pvp? 75%? is the formula i gave works on Uthgard or did the staff decided to use a customized one? THX |
|
No one knows. |
|
this is atm, the best answer i had. thx.

Heho,
Uthgard have a custom formula. The Staff developed it on live, thats the reason why it is not public. How ever it looks like they developed a fomula that doesn't include the weapons skill of the attacker, so maybe it would be better if it were public. Greetz Luydor |

any chance we ask and get an answer? a lot of people could spare tons or realm points if they realize for exemple mob4 is useless for them.
who is the best person to ask about? thx |

From what I gather, there seems to be a notable difference between MoBlock III and IV in RvR - and I am sure that is all you will ever hear about this matter. If you want to be a good guarder, get MoBlock IV. Blue will not tell you what formula is used and everything else has been said, I think.

I'm pretty sure the cap here is at 75%. It can't be as low as 60%.
