Hello Uthgard ,


After gettin ganked for the 3rd time a day on my Gk's Raids i've decided to write here to talk about Xrealming.


As i said , for the 3rd time today , i had no surprise to see Fg Hib incoming on our face when GK was around 10%.

Before starting GK , I ask many times /Lfg chan to look for members and pretty sure that some XRrealmers use it to ruin our raids.

I think Gm's should implant log-to-other-realm-timer , around 1h or thing like this , it might definitely fix majors problems that people have with XRealming.


Lets talk about it , (and fix this as fast as possible) ,

Blue mentioned months ago that this was something he wanted to implement - more specifically master accounts to which all game accounts need to be linked so that via that route some form of timer can be build in. Doesn't look like he got around to it yet tho.

But I agree that xrealming is one of the main issues with Uthgard RvR for sure - there seem to be quite a few player that will exploit this somewhat flawed system at the moment to their advantage (Relic Raids, playing the realm that has relics etc). Shameful, really.

Happened to one of my groups at Evern a while ago also.

At the last time at GK you was just unlucky i guess. I was one of the Druid who came and we wanted to kill GK too, after we started with Evern. For sure we took the chance and wiped you, but the GK was bugged then, so we had to reset him.

Well this time it has nothing to do with X-Realming - we didnt know u are on GK. We just hoped GK is not down

I hope the X-Realm-Timer will come some day. I want it too. This way it wont be possible that easy to destroy any type of Raids/RvR in the Frontiers.

I understand your frustration Esh, but this happens to all of us and without knowing for sure if there was Xrealing involved I would hesitate to call that out on the Uthgard forums. Yes, Blue did say in another post that Master Accounts and a realm switching timer would be implemented that may be tomrorrow or it may be 2 years. I'm not for sure if you play Alb or Mid (guessing not Hib since you said Hibs killed you) but you got to realise the same thing happens to all of us. I play Hib and have got ganked MANY times while doing Evern. Also, lets not forget that GK is right on the horse route just a quick jog from you main keep so any Mids or Hibs farming him are at a complete disadvantage to having Albs ganks us while on him. My advice would be to NEVER EVER EVER EVER spam over the /lfg channel for frontier bosses. That is just not smart. You know people play multiple realms, you know some people abuse this, so then why would you put it out there for everyone to see that you are going to farm the frontiers bosses? I agree and understand where you are coming from, but what I dont understand is if it happened to you 3 times and you think its such a problem why you would use the /lfg command for something like that.

Well.. I use /lfg chan because I've started making GK's raid just a few days ago , so I dont know enough people to complete groups without asking /lfg


1st time i though that was bad luck , thats why i continued using /lfg , i though "people are not so lame to use lfg chan to ruins raids"

But when it happen 3 times a day , as you said , it's frustrating (& QQ)

But i dont make this thread to QQ , because I have no proofs of this , just huge doubts , but I want to ask Gm's to make things to fix it , to thinkin these adds are juste bad luck , and not loosers who check all Enemy's Broads

Your english is fine I understand man, I've been there before and had several similiar instances. I've just found that if you spam it over broad or /lfg you got about a 75% chance of having inc while fighting. I find its better to have a few people that you use and make the group the sending private tells, guild chat, or alliance chat since by doing that you will have a lower chance of somebody trying to exploit you.

I was with the hib fg that wiped you once yesterday, I can assure it was a mere coincidence and none of us knew u were there.
Anyway, x-realmin and spies often happen, also for princes/beli, so I hope blues do somethin about it. A timer would be fine.

its nice to switch realms to see too many of the same realm and just want to rvr and start action etc but i understand that this isnt the good that can override the bad part of xrealming. might not even give incentive to ppl cross over if they have to wait 1 hr or so just to play at a diff realm and such but not for illegal purposes. complicated system

And once again: As long as TS and IRC exist, X-Realming can happen, no matter what you do about it. Yes i agree its lame, yes it ruins the fun for some ppl, but as it seems, a lot of the Forum posts just take it as an excuse for something that failed (most of the time raids ofc).

Hello All

As a newcomer to Uthgard but a long time player of DAOC, I realized as I first started playing here that this could be a problem. I witnessed something strange in DF that confirmed my belief that Xrealming is alive and well. I appreciate the people that let us play on Uthgard and take everything as it is but cheating is just very hard to take.
Recently, a relic raid was announced on the Alb side as a joke. Within a minute, we counted 14 people log off and in 5-7 minutes more than 2 groups of Hibs were seen moving to defend the Alb Strength Relic by a wandering Alb group.

Building bigger guilds may be one way to combat these issues but not always. 30 minute log between realms would be sufficient to deter most xrealmers.

Yes dantana this happens all the time. I've personally witnessed and been told things along these lines on multiple occasions. We all know it occurs, but I would reference Asloans' comment on this. As long as TS and IRC exist its very hard to combat this. Even if Blue implemented a 1 hour timer before switching realms I could still have people in Alb or Mid tell me that a relic raid is forming up. Its very tough to combat this, especially since this server (since i've been on here) has always allowed people to play multiple realms. When that happens people get to know others from several realms and thats when you have sharing of information. I still think the timer will help reduce this problem, but there is always going to be some amounts of cross realming.

Sure i though about this , sure it wont kill Xrealming , just brake a little , because some xrealmers won't join enemy realm to ruin raid , they'll only warn it..

Weak for sure , but better than nothing.. Anyway I dont think Gm's have 15000 solutions to avoid this

As some laws in countries , it gives limits to bad people AND honest people..

its all vey well and good putting an hour timer on to prevent you loggin another realm, but its just going to cause people to stop playing. Speaking from my own perspective, i have 2 accounts full of mid characters; mid is all i know and i have never rolled another realm until recently.

I have no interest in relics or who has them as they really dont provide much incentive or benefits to having them.

However, if i went from playing mid and then wanting to level up a little hibbie or alb, this setting would prevent me from doing that.

Am i really going to log off my mid account, wait an hour then log onto a alb or hib account?

no, ill either play on another server or do something else.

I know most of you think, big deal go somewhere else, but i wouldnt be surpised to see this "solution" having a negative impact.

in first place a relog timer makes only people restart theyr router and voila, login possible again.
