I had similar problems and others seem to have problems with game.dll crashing also - this is windows 7!!!

If you have Windows XP try to install it and it should work flawless
Can't tell you what solved it for me since I did bring my computer back to the pc shop and they changed some parts against equal ones - after this is was working without any problem.

But prolly some software problem with windows 7 - never had any problem using windows xp

I do not have a copy of Windows XP. The problem persists, and we've tried just about everything.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

I have actually the same Problem. But it has become strange if tried to log on my XP-Pc...No Success...i don´t get in the game (same like you). Then, i have installed the game on the new Notebook of my Wife (Win7). Then i started the game and was able to play. Then, afterwards i tried to login on XP-PC and ...surprise... i could play!!! I didn´t change anything on the xp-PC, but then i had a new Problem: Everytime i wiped in Wilton, i got a LD after /release. And after 3-4 times login, i had the old Problem again. Until now. I have tried a lot, but no way led to success.

there is one topic "Game crash game.dll" by silverkid maby you can find answer in that. i had same problem but for me it was bad files in zone folder that made the game crush when i wanted to log in to midgard main map or hw.
