This is a list I've been working on of suggestions to make Uthgard more interesting or fun or whatever. I'm not saying they are perfect or will bring in 100s of new players, just that they are ideas I thought were interesting. They're might be some negatives or problems with implementation and could use some fine tuning with regards to the details that I haven't considered, but they are only suggestions so take them as you will. Some of these might have already been considered and rejected. If so, sorry about that. The numbers and percentages I'm mentioning can be changed to whatever the devs feel is balanced if they feel they can implement them. 1. Make each keep in each realm give a specific extra bonus for being taken. For example: If an opposing realm owns one particular keep in another realm it can increase money drop amount by 5-10%, one can increase tinderbox drop rate by 10% and/or allow that realm to use tinders in OF, one keep can spawn NPCs that sell crafting mats 25%? off. They could also have an alchemy table, forge, etc with increased chance for skill up and/or lowered crafting time. One could allow all horses to be used in OF when claimed. 2. Have guards or one specific guard outside an enemy keep that, if killed, will drop an item that will force you to run at normal speed and you can't stealth or mount up unless you drop it. If you make it back to one of your keeps or your PK or wherever with the item, you get gold/rps/bps/something. If an enemy kills you with this item, they get xp rps or whatever or can take the item for themselves to return to their own keep(s) for a reward. This could be a group thing too perhaps? Maybe broadcast that: "(something) has been stolen by (whoever) from (name of keep)!" This could be a BG thing as well (might need to add some guards to Braemar or could just be the keep lord). 3. Caravan of roaming guards that travel various paths in the Frontiers. Should be high level. They respawn at random times and should take at least 4-5 or maybe a FG to kill. The drop or gold/alchemy drops/rare item/respec stone/rps/bps/etc. When attacked, everyone in the frontier could be alerted as to where it is happening. 4. Xping in a frontier zone that has a keep owned by your guild or realm will increase xp/gold/drop rate by whatever amount. 5. Create an item that drops a Prescience node when used. This item could be crafted (the component to make it will drop) or dropped only by a specific mob (like the Caravan above) or some random mob added in the Frontiers. This could help stir up the stealther camping at hotspots and create some interesting scenarios. Long reuse or can only have one on you at a time or whatever. 6. A long, difficult quest that when finished allows you to summon an Ancient Transmuter or some other NPC that will buy items or sell things like arrows or poison or whatever. Should be on a long recast timer as well, something like 1-3 hours perhaps. Or only once per day. This could also be an item with limited use or requires a charge. 7. A pot/item (with charges) that will cure Nearsight that has a long recast timer (30 minutes to an hour or more) and difficult to get components to make or difficult to obtain. Should be able to use in combat. Perhaps one for Rez Illness as well? 8. Allow RP off in the BGs, but not XP off at the same time. This way people that prefer to level in the BGs can do so. I think I've heard about this before, but don't remember the reasoning for or against. 9. Craftable specialized hats that provide af (i.e. Jester hat, Woodsman hat, antler helm, wolf helm) that can be SCed and procs added. Only really need to have them for level 50-51 armor. It would help change up what people look like. 10. Increase xp/gold/rps/bps during the off hours or based on population. Groups are hard to come by then as well as people to fight. Not everyone rolls a class that can level solo. 11. Go ahead and open the Frontier Dungeons without the mobs just so it can be open for now. Adds another way to travel in the frontiers and for people to bump into one another. Perhaps increase rp amount gained in there until mobs are added? Maybe put an NPC in the middle or at the entrance that will port you to the entrance of either of the other two realm's entrance to speed up travel time. Maybe put a boss mob (or Caravan) in the middle with good drops or respec stones? When the boss spawns/respawns, a message could be displayed to all those in the frontiers to let them know and come and fight for it. A particular keep taken or number of keeps could respawn it or some other way players can make it respawn. A note during the loading screen could tell the players what's up. 12. Escort quests. Start at PK or Keep. NPC or NPCs spawn and you escort them to their destination keep. If opponent kills it, they get RPs/Gold. If they make it safely there, you get RPs/Gold. Some sort of broadcast might be needed to help drawn the attention of attackers. Maybe choice of keeps to escort. The further away, the better the reward. 13. Every so often have a random keep go into emergency mode, catch on "fire" (not literally), weakened/sick Keep Lord, get attacked, etc. It is broadcast to all in OF or maybe on whole server. During this time (an hour or so with broadcasts every 15 minutes until time runs out?), all or some of the guards could vanish or become weakened (half health or hit for less due to some sort of plague or disease). If the keep is not taken/defended, all in the area of the keep will get a decent amount of RPs/BPs/Gold. If the keep is taken in that time, the attackers will get extra RPs/BPs/Gold for taking it. Should be a decent amount to make those interested. So defenders won't get bored while this happens and maybe no one shows up, have some type of mobs spawn in or around the keep to attack players or guards. Maybe even in the lord room too. They could drop decent coin or something else worthwhile like tinders or whatever to draw in defenders even if no attackers show up. 14. Allow whatever horse ticket you have to take you to wherever it says. So if one particular horse merchant doesn't sell a horse ticket to a certain area, giving him the one you have will still take you there. Not sure how horse route code works in this regard though, so it might be impossible. 15. Randomly cycled OF zone that gives increased rps/xp for fighting there. Time limited. Broadcasted in all of OF or world. Any or all of these ideas might not work or be too much trouble to implement. And, of course, none of this done to the detriment of other more important projects, but I don't think that really needs to be said. Some of these suggestions could be setup as events, like the emergency mode keep thing, the escort quests, or if the OF dungeons are open they could do that boss thing. |

Some are very interesting some are not.
#8 will never come to Uthgard as this leaves a way to stay in BGs forever. Something that was never intended by BGs (at least on Uthgard). |

1. give guilds a bonus for claiming keeps . for example: 50 % exp for levling in pennine mountains if they claimed there a keep

I guess that's true. What about an /rp off command though? That would accomplish the same thing and people would still level out of the BGs. You gain a lot of xp by killing people and it's a lot more fun than grinding, which you have to do anyway. It would be a welcome change of pace. Edit: I guess people could just suicide...I suppose it is a bad idea then. |

Another option would be that exp gained through RvR will not be lost in PvE deaths. I guess implementation of that is difficult though, as you would need 2 exp counters internally. |

Improve the area around a keep where is able to use the command recall to the lord room. In this way you can use the keeps in frontier as a bind stone and improve the worth on conquest them for expers user, and for pvp user.
Just 2 example: Ailinne could be used from campers of Horse route of hibernia to recall at lord, be rezzed and come back. Crauchon could be usedd by groups that die in Emain to recall there instead of port back.... usefull for solo too . The range of the area should be high but not huge (example for crauchon not the 2 gate but a part of the way between MMg and AMG) don´t let yourself fool from Old RA´s and people

/recall command is still in the game.
What you mean is the so called corpse summoner which will be introduced on Uthgard at some point. It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

probably is that one but i mean something like this actual behave of recall : you can use it after you have spoken with lord of keep belong to your realm and you die in the keep region (usually is written on death spam "player X was just killed by player Y at Dun Crimthain in Breifine") improve it, with not only close range to the keep but quite far from the keep, or at least with the keep in view so you would be able to avoid another teleport if you have some realm mate rezzing people at that keep. New live patch
In my opinion the Xp/Rp Tasks for the Bg's are a good thing. More ppl would join the Bg's (even in times, were normally noone is in the Bg) and learn to do RvR. Maybe that would bring more ppl into the Endgame RvR too. A lot of friends of mine love DAoC RvR but dont want to spend weeks to gain xp, with that tasks ppl could avoid just killing mobs the whole day. |
