My old mouse died so I got a cheapie Logitech M510. This one comes with both a front and back button (my last only had back).
I cannot get DAOC to recognize the buttons now. I used to make the back button (button 4 on the old mouse and button 5 on the new) be run lock. How can I get my new mouse buttons to work with daoc? I have tried the setpoint software and put it on game detect mode. No luck. I tried to make those buttons specific key assignments (numlock and @) and assign them to portal.exe and camelot.exe. No luck. Any ideas? My old mouse just worked. This one does not. |

I have mx518 and some of the buttons aren't recognized either. So here is what I did:
In setpoint, I set these buttons to some random keys (for example '=', something you won't accidentaly hit) and then in game I bind it using \qbind or settings. Use some key that you won't hit but also it has to be something that daoc recognizes. |

I personally found that a good mouse can make a lot of difference in game - so unless you are on a budget, maybe spend a little more?
http://www.aceofsweden.com/edge3200.html That's my current one, 50-ish €. Upgraded from a logitech 'gaming mouse' and it really is a vast improvement - both in the way glides over a surface (cermamic contacts) as well as the button programming / general feel. It even comes with extra weights to get a more balanced feel. If you play the game alot, it really is worth it. ![]() |

+- are long timer RAs or instants for me, so yes they work as well

Does this count as a macro tool? I hope not ![]() ![]() <<< This avatar is handmade by Inotor Wurzelbert : ) Check out the Mampfer-Threads for more. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=25079 viewtopic.php?f=10&t=26934 |

Can't be considered as long as it isn't a macro.
For me a macro is something like: if i press key A, it will make like i had press B+C+D in a certain order that you chosed Personnally i use a Razer 7 buttons, i've binded some stuff like pan, sprint, stick etc... |

Thanks for the ideas. I already have the mouse so I am going to make it work. It turned out that in windows 7 I needed to make setpoint run in administrator mode so it would work during daoc. (No idea why this is the case but it did fix the problem). So if anyone else runs into problems with setpoint try making it run as administrator.
Happy hunting. |
