On the live servers when pet would attack a mob, all adds from this attack would only attack the pet and not anyone of the corresponding group, why is this not implemented like this and instead brings adds on the group.

No expert on this, but from my experience, I find that pulling in dungeons is the only situation I've encountered this issue, but pet pulling outdoors worked as desired.

Nope, it doesnt work properly indoors or outdoors, if you send pet to attack something and pet attacks it before it aggroes pet, the BAF mechanics on Uth brings adds on the group which the pet belongs to.
Correct mechanics would be BAF mechanics only bring adds on the pet when it attacks. Greetings |

Ensis is right, it doesn't matter if it's in dungeons or outside, it works incorrectly in both cases and bring agro directly on group members instead of the pet. On live it most certainly only makes mobs agro the pet (at least if it is not very close to the group).
Live doesn't always seem consistent either, and you sometimes get direct agro, but it's comparatively rare. |

I must say that on live i have had about 10 pet classes leveled to 50 and 10 bubbles xp and ive never had anything add on me when i sent my pet on attack. i only had respawn aggroes and mob aggroes which i overlooked.

You can always set pet to passive and click go to target instead. Works on aggro mobs doesnt fix this issue for neutral mobs .

I know that, but Admins want stuff livelike, so im asking if this was forgotten on purpose or not.

Additionally Pets are not hit by monsters while on the run as used to be on live.
They just ignore them. Greetings |

I'm investigating mob aggro behavior on live and i'd like as complete of a description of live server observations that you guys can provide. Sources to external information for research would be appreciated as well.

Live observation from experience:
When a pet attacks a mob, all Friends that mob brings due to amount of grp members only attack pet. (including necromancer) When a Grp member attacks a mob, all friends that mob brings attack random group members excluding any pets (except for necromancer) Amount of Friends a mob brings is calculated by amount of groupmembers. a full group gets 3 mobs a full group with 1 pet gets 3-4 mobs a full group with 2 pets gets 4 mobs a 2 man group gets 1 i cannot derive a formula from this, but maybe you can if you need more information, or someone to help test on testserver send me a private message Greetings |

Those are the kinds of observations that are particularly useful. Thanks. The point about what happens when a group member attacks was something i observed as well. However i noticed that with a group of 2 i sometimes pulled 2 mobs. I only tested this at the siabra mireguard spawn in the bog of cullen so perhaps there are some unique features to static camps. I may indeed require some assistance in the future, especially in definitively determining the relationship between group size and BAF behavior as this is something that is not feasible to fully test without assistance. Regarding why a pet acquires all aggro vs a player doing it, i am leaning towards the idea that mobs use different aggression triggers when the target is a non player but this requires sufficient evidence to support or refute it. |

The formula is easy and used on Uthgard too.
Count of additional mobs is addcount = groupsize / 2 - 1 Every broken amount is converted into a chance to get another add. So - 0.5 would result in a 50% chance that you get one BAF mob - 1.5 would result in 1 BAF mob plus 50% chance to get another one. If BAF mobs only attack the pet MAY depend on range. It has to be checked on live. On Uthgard pets are no exception to group players. They are handled the same in BAF code. Maybe live mobs are more blind. It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

pets are not and have never been counted aas group members when deciding who the BAF mobs attack, they were though counted as # into group calculation.
What bothers me most is when you kite a mob it completely ignores any pet attacking it. Greetings |

Without complete live results how it should work the code won't be touched. Currently, I have no time for it.
A single player can login 8 accounts at once if the computer has enough power to stand it. Theres a little tool called lottacam for it. But I suppose its testable with 4 chars plus pets already. With players, each logging in 2 accounts its no problem at all to test it. It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.
