Hello!

Trying to troubleshoot a problem a guild mate has at the moment. Essentially she is unable to play in certain zones of tajendi. When she enters an affected zone, she starts by entering normally like everyone, but then she falls through the ground and ends up in a place far away from everyone, according to how she described it I'd say its somewhere in taj1. (sadly no screen available atm)

Affected Zones: Taj2 Temple itself, Glacier, Sea of fire, (Im guessing churiel area too but untested)
Working Zones: Tajendi1, Taj2 jungle incl the octopus maze right after exiting the temple

I'm wondering if anyone else ever experienced these problems or knows why this happens or how to solve it.

I always (always!) crash to desktop, in snakeroom in temple if I jump to middle of the room...other then that I have no problems in taj. Never heard anyone in same situation as your guildy either.

Tried re-downloading and reapplying the tajendi patch?

Yes she had fully re-installed daoc+tajendi before. Will try it again together with a fresh and clean installation+only uth_tajendi2.dmm and see if that helps. Posted here mainly to see if someone already went through this, I'm also curious about why it behaves like this. My first guess was old taj1 files causing trouble but this does not seem to be the case.

Thanks for the fast replies here btw, appreciate it :)

What client version is she running? When you say completely reinstalled DAOC- from Mythic's download site and full patch to 1.108?

That reinstall was already a while ago so it's probably sth earlier than 1.108. Will check that out asap.

I used to have the same problem.... it just seems to have stopped doing so. Perhaps repatching helped.

Tajendi is divised in two zone:

Taj1, temple, glacier, tear of earth room, sea of fire, and final area are in the first.
Jungle, and churiel are in the second.

So all "new" taj2 stuff in the taj1 zone have problems ?
Have you check if only tajendi2.dmm are installed and not tajendi.dmm too ?

Eventually a (new pc and thus) clean daoc installation got rid of the issue. Unfortunately this gives little insight on why this was happening in the first place, but I do suspect old taj1 files causing issues.

Today she saw taj2 temple for the first time and actually experienced a bug hole that dropped her right from runes to Gatekeeper, however that's a different story and could probably happen to anyone. :-) (could not reproduce it though, heh)

Interestingly though there have always been Port bugs in Tajendi. Did notice them during development -- Sometimes when switching zones you did not end up were you were supposed to go, but instead somewhere in the area with a significant offset added.

No idea what causes this, and no idea how to fix this. This bug is hardly reproducable. All porters in Tajendi actually teleport you twice (with a 2 sec delay in between) to the destination for that reason.

Don't know if it is related to this bug, just my two cents on that matter.

Try removing the whole zone, running camelot.exe, and then repatching it again. Make sure that the person in question is using the latest version of DAoC Portal and the latest .dmm for patching.
Be nice. :)

Keep inmind there are known bugholes and always yet to be discovered bugholes. the important point to take away is not to abuse them, because staff is always watching.
