It's been a few days now and it hasn't fixed itself so I figured I'd post here for help. It takes around 5 seconds for commands, etc. to go through now and it's really annoying trying to level and everything. I did a tracert and I'm guessing this is why the lag is happening?

i cannot detect any changes by lags into the last weeks or days. i've absolutely no problems and i play any hours per day (primetime).

i think you have a bad connection or your network (provider) has a problem at this time? most problems are local problems...

I am used to have lag often in RvR but never ld
but last 3 weeks have been awfull with regular ld (several by evening)
so i guess something happened last weeks
yesterday was ok for me so hope it is now better

Very rarely I can't log in because of it but most of the time I log in and it's too laggy for me to do anything.

I've been getting lag spikes alot recently as well. There were no problems before, I'd say around the 20th of August it started.

It's not my provider

Do pings also and check for packet loss.

ping -n 10 -r 9 a.b.c.d

If routes change frequently because auf lost routes than it also causes packet loss and laggy connection and connection loss.

Just did that and all went through fine.

You can also make use of the tool called pingplotter:

The standard version seems to be free of use.

If the lag spike come temporarily than its good to have pingplotter running and it will show you where on the route to the destination is the "bottleneck".

In some cases its a route change on hops between large carrier caused by various circumstances and lost routes into a network.
And there is not much to do because its between the source and destination. You could inform your provider about that if its closer to your end, in hope the have hold on that ^^
