i was told to ask the forums about my ld'ing problems, i hope this is the correct spot.

PROBLEM: what happens is i log in, play for 30 to 40 mins, then get ld, and i re log in, and ld comes faster and faster until i am forced to restart my computer. then i just repeat the process. also i sometimes get glitchy where my character spins around or shakes really fast (usually happens after the 3rd or 4th time i have ld'd and then i must restart computer to play) i have also had this problem for months now, (i just played other games) so its not a random one time thing

also i only have ld problems with daoc (including all the free servers). i can play, and have played wow, sro, perfect world, cabal, a bunch of decent online games with no ld problems so i don't think its my internet.

i have downloaded and installed the daoc client from the link on the dol site, and then the patch for Uthgard, am i missing something?

if anyone has an idea of why i ld so often or am having these glitchings please post something

comp info: AMD athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.00 GHz, 2.98 GB of RAM, im guessing integrated grafix

also im computer dumb so please dont make any suggestions to fix my problem too hard to follow

thanks all, i hope someone can help me out ^_^

Is it a near instant LD? Like, no lag before it happens? Cause I've been getting that too. I think it's a video issue personally, since I get weird things like the grass will reload in random places about 10 times per second before the LD. Had an "Out of memory" error once as well, and I remember it happening ever since DAoC updated their graphics.

I tried updating video drivers but still happens. Anyone else know about this?

[Edit] Specs: AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core 6000+ processor, 4GB RAM, WinXP, NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GS 256MB video (I know, it's so old :P).

yes it is an instant ld, and i also have the grass and items re loading, but some times i don't ld right away. i also forgot to mention that sometimes monsters and people pop and reload like the grass, so when fighting a monster it will pop out of view, then hit me and be back. thats really annoying when u need to use evade / parry styles :P

also, lets say i start my computer up, play for 40 mins, then get ld and walk away from my computer for hours, i will have to restart it to play again, because if i don't my characters will be all spinning glitchy again

iv also looked up any hp driver updates and installed them, but it didn't help

Make sure you have Direct X running correctly in the latest available version. You might try out the "dxdiag" command in Start -> Run on Windows.

Maybe try to reinstall it. Also make sure the drivers are up to date.

i just called daoc support, its my grafix card. i guess its soo old that it has problems with daoc, which is bull s&*% because i used to play live all the time and i didn't have any problems.

my grafix card is a Geforce 6150 LE rofl, not good enough for daoc but it runs all the other big online games just fine, spiffy

thanks all for ur help

Seriously? What bs. Mine's the GeForce 6800 GS. I know it's a crap card but it runs Aion and other games with -much- better graphics. What a lame answer :/

how good the graphic is isnt always what determine what graphic cards can run.. might just be that daoc is poorly developed to some graphic cards :) remember its an old game

Aww, I know, just sucks LDing in an old game like DAoC due to graphics memory leaks and there's nothing that I can do about it. Well, besides switch cards.

Actually, I wonder if I have any old cards kicking around I can switch to...

I'm having the same problem. It actually only started last night. I've been playing for several days and have seen no problems. Any ideas?

btw...

I'm running windows 7, dx 11, and have an nVidia 9500gt. I just installed the latest drivers and am still having the problem.
