Greeting y'all,

Last few days there were some question no one realy knew the answer to, so I asked them here to get a better look on things.

PL'ing: Can one still powerlevel a lowbie friend?
Like ie. a lvl 50 SM,Cabbie,Chanter pl'ing his lowbie friend or a lowbie just to be friendly, or is it as the rumor goes there a 7 level rule, if the difference between the chars in the group the xp will be less/near none. (Besides the max. xp cap the lowbie would get in his normal progression towards lvl 50)

Buff'in: Seen duallogging is forbidden (two thumbs up on that rule btw) and one can't have a buffbot stuck to his rearquarters.
What if a lowbie I stuck meself to him, buff up and have dinner infront of the screen kinda tell him what to do and give a little heal now and then?
Or feeling generous and read up on something (ie. where to go next to level) place meself in the startertown hand out some buffs and tab-out to read up?

Thx,

As long as all toons are being played there shouldn't be a problem.
But if I log on my aug shaman and stick a lowbie then watch a movie, make supper, go to the store or whatever, my toon is now a buff bot and both toons can be banned.
But a lvl 50 can buff or group a lvl 1 as long as no one is afk.
This is my understanding of the rules, it used to be different back when you had to regerster on forum if more then one player from same IP played here.
Back then they said no pushing (PLing) of lower lvls.

this is just not worth it ,.. because the mobs that are orange con will give like yellow con mobs xp to you and your little grp mate....

if you can kill like 5 orange con mobs fast enough without downtime you maybe increase his xp speed but usually its just not worth it ;P

you have to kill red mobs ,.. that it gives cap to you and your little grp mate ;)

can you chainkill red mobs? in a good kill speed? ;P

but it is allowed ^^

§2.9 Each player may level with anyone else, regardless of the level. For example a level 50 player may gain experience in a levelgroup with a level 1 player.

you may log in ,.. buff someone and support him as long as you dont violate this rule

§2.10 Logging in 2 accounts for own benefits is not allowed for one user in any case. This includes Buffbots, a second character in group, another character crafting and even a mule character. Any violation will result in immediate account termination.

and i think ( not 100% sure , but the rules dont say anything against it )
that you may buff someone (as long as it is not in a RvR zone) and go afk

but i'd just look into the game once each 5-10minutes and it wont be any problem if you wanna read something while helping anyone xping

correct me when im wrong ;P

1 player on 1 IP , you maybe afk as far as i know
2 players on 1 IP , you should not go afk! log our your charackter then.
+ no buffing in RvR zone and afk then

§2.12 You may not grant anyone buffs in rvr areas while sitting in your safe zoneentrance and being away from your computer, as this is buffbot use.

but seems like it is now allowed in PvE zones,...
wasnt like that ealier
and if its still not allowed to buff in PvE zones and afk then ,... there should be a rule about it....

but these 3 rules are the only ones i could find about it

If your toon has some RR, pots, charges etc, it can easily be way faster to level someone that way.

Especially if that person is a support class, and especially when they get a few levels.

Quite easy:

One person logging two accounts --> buffbot (or duallog - only a minor form of buffbot logging)

This is not allowed and will result in a ban (check the ban forum)

Two person logging one account each --> no buffbot, even if one person is only buffing the second, with no profit or anything else (for example, lvl 50 char buffing a lowie)

This is allowed, will not result in a ban (except the posted RvR rule which is almost useless, since buffs are range based now)

And then there is the "problem-zone": Two persons logging one account each, but playing from the same IP (house, inet-cafe etc.).

Sure, it's still allowed, but the staff only sees that two accounts are being logged by the same IP. In this situation, you should not go afk for more than a few minutes (means a few: 5min maximum - not 10 or 15!). The staff will check you from time to time (not all checks you will be able to notice) and might test you. Meanwhile we have quite some tests to check whether there are one or two persons playing, so for your own sake do not try to fool us ;-).

Just for you information: For example: Telling us "my girlfriend just got to the coffee shop across the street, will be back in 15min", is no excuse. If you are logging two accounts from one IP, make sure you are not afk. And do not try using your 95 year old grandma for playing the second account. A level 50 RR7 Shaman that is not able to run in more than one direction is not very convincing...

I hope i cleared things out a bit. Feel free to ask if i missed something. :-)

First of all thanks all.

But me thinks my question was abit wrong, I'm the only one on my IP so there would't be any dualloging from my side.

But one would think as I stand there behind a lower level doing nothing as act as a buffbot, not grouped since they grey to me and he would't get any xp.
Would be kinda a bummer beeing generous and friendly and getting banned of it.

But the question rose as we talked yesterday in the albion newbie guild about it, say like a lvl 9 hunting Grey Warg's and I'm up a mountain swinging my stick at Wicked Cythrauls up the mountain. Someone answered sounds like a ban, which was wierd to me as a GM would clearly see we're doing our kill'in complete seperate, just the one up there has given some buff's to the lowbie and comes down abit to smack him a heal or two.
Objects can look nicer as the can appear.
