Hi, I have a question for GM's.
In Midgard, in Malmohus zone, there is a mob named Arnulv[1] that drop a necklace called "Necklace of the Body"[2]. As everyone can see from the link in [2] on this necklace there are:

Code: Select all
Magical Ability:
  Function: Imp Stat Buff
  str/con Increase: 75
  Target: Self
  Duration: 10 min
  Cast Time: instant

Why, on Uthgard, on the Necklace of the Body dropped by Arnulv there are not these charges?
Moreover there is another Necklace of the Body, with charges, dropped by a mob named Legion[3], that don't have to drop this item, as you can see from link in [3].

I've asked why to some players in game and they answer me that charges have been moved on the Legion because in this way Hibernian players too can purchase them and use them. This is a CUSTOM change, i think.

But the problem is not this. :D

Although on Uthgard there are not SI zones, we have SI classes, so if the staff want to do a CUSTOM change giving Hib S/C charges without we can have all the other items (for all the three realms) from SI zones, well, they can. Just admit that this is a CUSTOM change.
Moreover now, with tajendi2 (really great work) and Churiel drops, hibs too have their s/c charges without have to farm Legion for them, so there's no need to keep this CUSTOM change on.

But, again, the problem is not this. :D

The problem is: Why can't mids have their right, classic drop on the right, classic mob called Arnulv? An easy farmable orange mob? Why mids have to farm Legion or Churiel 10000000000000000 times instead?
How is the mob that drops s/c charges for mids connected with Legion or with the mob that drops s/c charges for other realms?
Why just because hibs don't have s/c charges without SI zones mids have to farm Legion or Churiel for them instead of the right, classic mob?
Something wrong here, i think.

With this CUSTOM change the staff DECIDED to give an objective advantage to hib and plus they DECIDED to weaken mid turning the Necklace of the Body in a super rare item, while in a classic server it's not (at least not in Midgard - dunno about Albion). An objective disadvantage.

Is it impossible to have s/c charges on the right mob on mid? :D
Now that hibs can farm Churiel for s/c charges is this CUSTOM change still necessary? :D
Ironically i'm just asking to make Uthgard more classic. :D

Finally there are a lot of balancing issues (expecially for soloers, not so important for group RvR) connected to the CUSTOM choice the staff made, but maybe we can talk about it in another dedicated thread.

Cheers,
Celad.

EDIT: Browsing the fo rum i've found another thread about this problem without answers from GMs, linked in [4], that shows other s/c charges items with no charge on. So CUSTOM changes are more. :D

At the beginning it was like that on Uthgard I suppose, because of that has been told to me by oldschool players. The staff decided to remove the common drop and add it to the loot table of Legion. In fact I think that was a good decision because Hibs or Albs have no equivalent until the shrouded isles zones are implemented.

It's easy Ronia: the fact that hib/alb have not s/c charges has nothing to do with the mob that drop them. So please don't write craps.
Example: IF really is unfair that alb/hib have not s/c charges (remember that it's just the CLASSIC state of things), why don't put s/c charges on an item dropped by an hib/alb mob of Arnulv's same level?
It would be always a CUSTOM change, but with less impact of the mid CLASSIC state of things.

However, as i wrote, since tajendi 2 release hib/alb has s/c charges too, so there's no more need of this CUSTOM change.

as ronian say and trishin conformed.

the S/C charges that are available in midgard classic-zone are removed..

why?

midgard has the luck that 2 SI-drops with that charge drop in malmohus (arnulf) and raumanik (WoW-Cloak).
hibernias S/C-charges drop in the SI-Zones...
Albions S/C-Charges drop in the SI-Zones...

since alb and hib would not have access to the charge this would create an imbalance...thats why staff removed them.

By the way...
midgard has 5 D/Q charges in the classic zones
hibernia has 2 D/Q charges in the classic zones (one of them is an OTD)
albion has NO D/Q charge in the classic zones
just a sidenote all have access to D/Q in DF but this require DF..

@ Ronia: the craps i refer is not the rarity of s/c charges in old days, but the lack of a logic consequence between the absence of s/c charges for Alb/Hib and the transformation of a common drop in a super rare drop for Mid.

and i answer:
Celad wrote:the fact that hib/alb have not s/c charges has nothing to do with the mob that drop them.

learn to read.

@ Trishin: thans for reply, it's a big step considering the thread linked in [4]. But, exactly, your "yes" was in responce at which one of my questions?

@ Musikus: Midgard has the luck? LOL! This is not luck, this is REAL CLASSIC DAOC, as the staff say often: Hibs and Albs have just to learn to play with it.

@ GM: Still the problem is not solved, why turn s/c charges in a rare item when the problem is only that alb and hibs don't have them?
Celad wrote:However, as i wrote, since tajendi 2 release hib/alb has s/c charges too, so there's no more need of this CUSTOM change.

Answer to this, please.

And isnt more easily implement this items for other mobs in clasic zones? If we have not SI zones, this doesn´t mean that you cant implement this items for other mobs, like megalodon drops.

Is this hard?

PS: Gms dont worry. People will still farming Churiel too, his items are awesome. People not only farm Churiel for st/con charge.

Aha....for uthgard setting midgard has luck to have 2 Si items in classic zone...
sure albs and hibs have S/C charges too...but in a zone that is not implemented...

that has NOTHING to do ''real classic DAoC''...this has to do with the fact that we have no access to the charges because the zone is not available to farm it.

your ''this is real classic daoc'' is obsolete since albs and hibs have to have the charge too. as long as this is not given by access to the zone there is no reason to take back this custom thing...

if you want your S/C charge in mid you have to do the same as albs and hibs....go on legion raids and/or beat churiel for his gem/bracer.

Lol, and why? S/C charges are common. Only on uthgard they are such a rare item. What i was asking is: if the problem is that alb and hib has not s/c charges, why don't just put them on a mob of hib and alb classic zones? Maybe a mob similar to Arnulv, or of the same level of the SI mobs that dorps the charges for albs/hibs.
But not on Legion lol!

Regarding to the "real classic problem": we don't have SI zones -> we don't have SI items -> Hibs and albs don't have s/c charges, just like on classic when SI was not on, but with plus some classes.

We have SI classes, but not SI items, so where's the difference?
However i've not problem with s/c charges for alb/hibs, i don't understand why on uthgard they have to be such a rare item in a CUSTOM way like this.

Staff stated in the past that they dont want easy mode like free levels and it seems that a s/c charge should be a rare item in their opinion. I won a necklace of the body at jingle joust back in the day. I was very happy because at this time there was no tajend2.

I wouldnt like that they would make it a common drop or just implement it to other mobs because I bought a churiel bracer for 60p and a guildmate bought his one for 55p. People who actually want one dont qq in the forums, they go farm gold or bosses. Midgard is sick when it comes to prices but yeah, thats the peoples fault who pay such insane prices.

Free levels is easy mode, and i don't like it. Changing a common item, part of the normal aspect of the game, in an insane luxury item is CUSTOM. And it's not normal, because it changes the balance of the game. You can't compare the two things.

So you are an envoius person. Good to know.
However, if they will implement SI zones and SI items, s/c charges will come back as a common item, so i don't understand you here.

I'm not QQing because i want one, i'm simply asking why the staff made this CUSTOM choice, while all that they want (it seems) is "to emulate the experience of daoc around 2003 (before toa) and to give a good sense of realm experience and the experience of being part of a realm".
The experience od daoc before toa has nothing to do with 60p s/c charges items.

I don't see the point of making a certain charge extremely difficult (or practically impossible for some people) to farm. Charges should not be exclusive toys for the "hardcore" players with the time and the guild-support to farm these sort of things. They should add an extra bit of strategy to RvR, which is why I like Nixian/Zarkor's idea of limiting the number of charges/pots a player can have.

I don't get it easy mode.... classic server..... Well there was "FREE" lvls BEFORE even SI with the 2 Merchant keep quests and the BGs medal of valor.

Really they want what they want and not what was.
