Druid 47 Nurture spec focus shield. Absorbs 90% of damage on target and druid loses mana accordingly. Does anyone know right away what's the mana efficiency on the shield? Is it 1 damage = 1 mana lost?

Ye, thanks. I checked that already, but there was nothing about power. I can't even find the info if target taking damage is supposed to drain mana or not. Live herald documentation just says 3PP per pulse. But I do agree on that it is a huge mana drain when a shielded caster is being hit by the assist train ![]() |

I have tested it when it was introduced with cleric, drained power since you cast it and taking dmg was not draining more power . I dont know from where this feature..draining more power when the target is beeing dmgd..its stated in the patches or? |

I was wondering about this and found no updated information. I don't have a druid/cleric/shaman to test it on Uthgard, but if it drains power from dmg taken this is obviously a mis-interpretation of the skill-description from the patchnotes.
It says "The caster of the spell will have power drained as the focus shell is held in place" which means that it takes power to keep the shield up over time, not that it takes power to absorb damage. Since this topic is from 2010, would be nice to know if this is still the case on Uthgard. regards “DAOC is not about what you can log. It's about what you can play :> ”

it still is, per damage Source you loose mana. And since damageadds, dots, dual weapons etc. all count as individual source you loose a lot of mana very quickly. Still, usefull cast in many situations.
