This test was conducted to prove if Weapon Skill tables affect evade rates.
The target is a level 50 Shadowblade with 116 Dexterity and 73 Quickness. Her unmodified chance to evade is 37.2%. All attackers have 1 point in weapon spec, with the exception of the Shaman and Runemaster (for obvious reasons). You can download the combat logs here: http://www.mediafire.com/?vtgjznuy4ni Here are the results: WARRIOR Strength 282, Weapon Skill 1002 -Attacks 1975 -Evades 461 23.3% evade rate BERSERKER Strength 282, Weapon Skill 959 -Attacks 2036 -Evades 566 27.8% evade rate SAVAGE Strength 276, Dexterity 288 (/2 = 282 damn I'm good), Weapon Skill 911 -Attacks 1951 -Evades 558 28.6% evade rate SKALD Strength 282, Weapon Skill 828 -Attacks 2012 -Evades 631 31.4% evade rate SHADOWBLADE Strength 282, Weapon Skill 784 -Attacks 1963 -Evades 626 31.9% evade rate SHAMAN Strength 281 (doh), Weapon Skill 774 <--- Same WS table as the SB -Attacks 2051 -Evades 635 31% evade rate RUNEMASTER Dexterity 282, Weapon Skill 604 -Attacks 1996 -Evades 765 38.3% evade rate Last edited by Seyha on Apr 15, 2010 21:19, edited 6 times in total.

Some people should tell me something new. A defensive Warrior is almost impossible to kill if he has ip2 up. PS: Without kiting. |
|
I think you misunderstood me, Ronian.
A Warrior will reduce his target's chance to evade more than a Ranger will. My testing shows a big difference in defense penetration between classes.

Does the classes dmg table have anything to do with it. Since classes like the warrior, hero, armsman, blademaster, merc, beserker, and so on, are all on higher dmg tables, they also gain more WS per stat then lower table classes like the ranger. For that theory to work, i would bet the rangers bow or other archers bows give higher penetration, compared to there melee, because the bow is on a higher table then there melee.

I still have hours of testing left to do, but it appears that Weapon Skill table is the deciding factor here. So far I have tested the Warrior and the Shaman against a Shadowblade with a 37.2% base chance to evade (same as in the other tests).
The Warrior with no weapon spec, 282 Strength, and 1002 Weapon Skill was evaded 23% of the time. The Shaman with 281 Strength, and 774 Weapon Skill was evaded 31% of the time. I'm currently testing the Berserker (same stats as the Warrior, but with 959 Weapon Skill). 540 attacks with a 24.8% evade rate.

When you compare Uthgard and live regarding dual weapons it doesn't halve evade anymore on live.
So you will have less evade on Uthgard than live against LA/CD/DW. Uthgard till 2003!
|
|
Back in the day it halved it right? |
|
Dont think so, multiply attackers halved it, but that was a bug also.
|
|
Yes all penalties were removed in 1.87 Uthgard till 2003!
|

Yeah, assassins are going to have a much harder time against buffed Light Tanks with these changes. The penalty to their evade rate will be huge.
also, Rangers... Defense penetration is going to have a big impact on PvP. It's really shocking that no one has tested it before. ![]()

As it should be. Why would assassins be able to wtf pwn buffed light tanks anyway... Maybe with these changes and some WS table tweeking along with 2h dmg tests, heavy tanks and some hybrids will finally be fixed and a viable option in RvR... ![]() |

![]() finnished bump!

very very nice test!!!!
There seems to be more than just WS "High-factor" classes seem to benefit more. Berserker - Warrior 43 more in WS result in 4,5% less evade for Warrior Skald - SB 44 more in WS reslt in 0,5% less evade for Skald Uthgard till 2003!

Yea the tiers (shown in Braxis' post) definately have an influence. Nice tests btw Seyha! |
