hello, I understand it took you a long time to figure out the block formula and that you won't probably post it, but is there a way to figure your blockchance on uthgard when you know your stats etc ?

Also I would like to ask if there is a cap for blockchance and if yes what is it?

I am looking for a more exact answer if you get my drift ^^

On some other servers you can see the % Chance of all your defense skills (parry, evade, block) in the Bonusses /Snapshot Window.

Maybe this could be implemented here to, so the community doesnt know the formula but the % chances for their Chars

There are caps of course.

RvR with all shields: 80%
PvM with small shields: 80%
PvM with medium shields: 90%
PvM with large shields: 99%

sounds good, do you think there would be chance giving some "formula light" to do the maths for ourselves or do what murax proposed?

edit: one more question, does shield size affect guard? I know the regular blocking I am asking about guard

The answer is no. Anyways, maths without testresults will always be unsuccessful here. You don't seem to know rule #1: Mythic formulas have nothing to do with logical thinking.

@ Nayru

You dont have to do maths if the screen for your chars just says 20% parry and 40% Block Chance for example

@Poplik

shield Size doenst change the Chance to block but the amount of Attackers that CAN be blocked at the same time

small = 1
Med = 2
Large = 3

afaik more attackers also results in a lowered Block Chance

Well I've been told it doesn't work like that for guard and shield size changes nothing at all. Anyone can say how it really works/should work ?
I am assuming direct control.

Murax is correct. And you too. There is no cap for guard (and shieldsize doesnt matter). My main on live was hero 50 shields moblock5 and you could block for another tank like 25+ red glimmer knights.

afaik Shield size only matters in PVP regarding to the amount of attackers

Whoever told you that is wrong.

It's the same in mob combat.

I always thought it was 75%. I think the loading tip stated that aswell.

Yup, it does state it.

AFAIK it was changed from 75% to 60% in 1.96, so the base should be 75%. I don't remember it being 80%, but I could be wrong.

Also, from a grab bag:
http://www.camelotherald.com/news/news_ ... oryid=3691
PvE blocking rates currently depend on the size of the shield being used. Currently, the blocking rate caps are as follows for PvE:

Small Shield: 80%
Medium Shield: 90%
Large Shield: 99%

Note: These values only affect PvE - in RvR, blocking is currently capped at 75%, and 60% on Pendragon.

And from another grab bag:
http://www.camelotherald.com/more/3685.shtml

The change mentioned in the 1.96a Pendragon Patch Notes only affects the RvR block cap. The PvE block cap has not been altered.

So PvE block caps should function like in the first quote.
