Any time im in a town, i usually crash. This is almost exclusivley in towns, occasionally outside of them. I asked this question a few months ago, and i thought i solved it, previous thread http://www.uthgard-server.net/modules.p ... ic&t=11121 . then i looked at the system requirements for Catacombs.

Recommended Requirements:

Pentium 4 2.4GHz or AMD equivalent (check) I actually have 2.80 GHz, not sure what that means
1 GB RAM (check)
Compatible 3D Acceleration card with 128 MB Video RAM (check)
DirectX 9.0 or later (check)
Shader 2.X or greater support (check)

Any help is greatly appreciated

have you tried to update with camelot.exe, checked the checkbox "check all files" ? have you lowered the gfx-settings to "the lowest possible", including switching off all effects, sounds, classic-charskins, etc etc?

technically, nothing, but i thought it was that i didnt have enough RAM. then i realized that i had the recommended amount and 2x the minimum. Someone did suggest that it could be a memory leak but i wouldnt know how to fix that

So did I.

Remember Vista didn't exist by the time game specifications were made.

I did, and there's nothing you can do about it besides adding some RAM.

make a safecopy of your client. then patch the non-safecopy to lotm. try if that kills your problem. ( for me lotm is better than cata)

My LOM client runs fine with custom settings, but Darkness Rising was a bit choppier and I'd regularly go linkdead in Camelot.

Get LOM and use minimum settings. If that's not the problem you might want to disable antivirus when playing (that's also something I have to do)

Im not sure what you mean by patch to LOM. I think thats what im running. The minotaur and mauler are both available, and i have the LOM loading screen. Also, if im not already running it, how do i patch it to LOM?

So you have the LOM client, not Catacombs? And if you do, have you looked at the LOM requirements? I think they're higher than Catacombs. I know my computer barely meets the requirements, but I still need to turn things down to get good performance and prevent linkdeath.

LOM minimum specs

Pentium 4 2.0 GHz or AMD equivalent (check)
512 MB RAM (check)
Requires compatible 3D acceleration card with 64 MB Video RAM (with Pixel Shader 1.1 or higher) (check)
DirectX 9.0c or later (check)

All settings are at their lowest (i just clicked highest framerate in the options menu)
