So I wanted to respec my zerk at 40 to hammer/la. I used /respec to pull all my points from Axe to put into Hammer. After I trained my 1st point into hammer, the UI defaulted back to the top of the list to Axe. Not realizing it, I kept clicking train until all my points were spent - back into Axe. After I realized what happened I tried contacting a GM and didn't find one until the next day.

Today I spoke to a GM and he consulted with higher powers that denied a respec granted back to me. Now, I'm not sure if the game isn't capable of granting a respec or they just don't want to. He summed it up by saying "it was your fault so there is nothing we can do" Yes, this was an honest mistake I was reading something on my laptop at the time and not paying attention.

What bothers me is, I expected a free shard community/support/GMs to be more forgiving for situations like this since there are no paid CSR's or paying customers or company backed EULAs to deal with. If you looked back at my logs, I won auction bids on a couple hammers and minutes before respeccing, purchased a crafted 1H hammer - I had every intent to go hammer.

so I will shut /rant off - I just was expecting a bit more breathing room from a free shard system. If granting respec just isn't possible in the game that's fine - if it's just a "well too bad for you" then I think it's a bit harsh given the circumstances.

you have to understand "them" aswell.
it is like a snowball. grant someone a "free" respec today and 20 others will DEMAND that respec tomorrow.it may seem hard , but it is the only way the system can (and will) work.

i´m sure you can get a single respec for cheap. they only cost about 1p these days.somebody will read this for sure and gonna offer you a respec stone for a fair price.the community is really good here as you might have noticed.

well, maybe you have gathered 1000 bountypoints by now
you can buy a single respec in DF or Glenlock Faste for 1000 bp.

I definitely see how it could be abused and totally understand their approach. I was thinking if I could prove (logs, chats, purchases, etc) that I wanted to go Hammer it would not have been a big deal and I wasn't trying to "scam" a free respec. Especially as this is my first char here.

Thanks for the heads up on purchasing a respec in DF - didn't realize that could be done. I know the GM said that they would be acquired via a dragon raid or legion.

@esme I don't have that much at the moment but i would be willing to split the difference with you and pay you back afterwards! =D

On "normal" servers you were always bound the get a free respec every now and then because of the patch:age

I'm thinking "Eastern Eggs", "Cristmas presents" or something.

plenty of ways to get respecs now

dia farm, legion/dragon raid, BPs .. just ask around - someone will have one

easter eggs are already in use last 3 years..and you can exchange em for respecs.

the server exist far longer than 3 years...
i am on uthgard since 2004 ... and the server where online even longer (heard it started 2001 but not sure about that)
