High server population is no reason for a lag. I can only remind, to find and confirm server side lags I need the exact time when it happened.

i also have a new masiv lag problem about 3 times

the 3th lamp is red, feels like cpu to hot, buts its not a hardware or connection problem

if i go ld from allone or restart the game the problem is fixed

No it doesnt help. Ping is only useful to distinct between network lag on your side and server side lags. The only thing we can fix are server side lags.

You should do ping -t uthgard.game-server.cc and look whether you see network lags, when you have ingame lags. If you see its a problem in ping then we can't do anything against it.
It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

Ok whenever you notice an ingame lag, switch to the desktop to look for the ping. If you see timeouts at the same time, you know its not Uthgard but network related. You could further test with tracert where the problem is.
It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

the problem is not this simple, i did endless ping to uhgard.game-server.cc for two day's, during the morning everything is perfect, during the afternoon i get packet losses every ten minutes ot so, only 1 packet at a time, around 16h i sart getting clusters of slow ping's, sometimes 10 at a row, the get mre frequent and start ending with packet loss, yesteday during DR in got a lot of lag, i lost packets every few seconds.. rest of the pings where very slow, as soon DR ended (dragon died) things got a lot better..
after the raid i logged in to level some twink with a few friends, there was some lag, but not awfull..
pings came back a 30ms average with a packet los every few minutes..
i ran the ping on a second computer during the raid, on that machine it showed the same problem, pings to google.de show no problems...

conclusion:
connection to the sever get worse in the evening, they are related with what happens in the game (dragon raid makes it worse)
i only get bad connection to the server, other sites are fine
it has nothing to do with my computer, i get bad ping on the other machine too
someone has an idea of what's going on?

Hey guys,

I'm getting similar to what OP was talking about. I am getting large lag spikes that either lead to me missing fights or go linkdead. I normally play fine and am currently streaming perfectly in the background with no signs of bad internet connection. Tracert results:

1 10 ms 18 ms 8 ms 10.37.140.1
2 12 ms 15 ms 10 ms 70.169.76.210
3 17 ms 16 ms 14 ms 70.169.73.26
4 13 ms 15 ms 23 ms 70.169.75.157
5 49 ms 46 ms 43 ms 68.1.5.131
6 50 ms 46 ms 45 ms ip70-167-151-22.at.a

I just performed a pingtest.net right after and got 0% packet loss, 29 ms ping, and 4 ms jitter.
I then performed a speedtest.net after that and got 32.26 mbps download and 13.61 mbps upload.

Same here, was working great for ages but since roughly a week ago I can get up to 5 LD's an hour. Uthgard connection is the only problem. No issues with connection elswhere.

Approximately 11:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time on March 6, 2013

Was getting massive lag spikes, long chat lag spikes, etc.

So, I ran the tracert

Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6002]
Copyright (c) 2006 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

C:\Users\William>tracert uthgard.game-server.cc

Tracing route to uthgard.game-server.cc [72.215.225.9]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms <my router> [XXX.XXX.X.X]
2 8 ms 7 ms 7 ms 10.76.0.1
3 8 ms 8 ms 8 ms 24-234-16-69.ptp.lvcm.net [24.234.16.69]
4 8 ms 8 ms 8 ms 24-234-6-193.ptp.lvcm.net [24.234.6.193]
5 7 ms 7 ms 10 ms 24-234-6-254.ptp.lvcm.net [24.234.6.254]
6 35 ms 35 ms 29 ms 68.1.5.131
7 36 ms 35 ms 35 ms ip70-167-151-22.at.at.cox.net [70.167.151.22]
8 * * * Request timed out.
9 * * * Request timed out.
10 * * * Request timed out.

and it kept going with * * * request timed out. I noticed that the uthgard server had a different IP address than those in other posts...is that something odd?

So then i tried the ping -t uthgard.game-server.cc and every request timed out (again it was 72.215.225.9 IP address). So, from what I've read in Blue's previous posts that it isn't the server but probably something between my house and the game server. Let me know if there is something else I can do that would improve my connection.

Can someone explain to me why when I ping uthgard.game-server.cc, it goes to IP address [72.215.225.9], but everyone else seems to ping [88.198.56.21]? When I try to ping or trace the uthgard.game-server.cc, i get 100% failure. When I try to ping or trace 88.198.56.21, i get 100% success and fast responses.

Could this be related to why I'm getting massive lag problems recently, because my game is trying to connect to an incorrect IP address? I'm just not an expert on this, but I've never had such terrible lag that I'm getting past two weeks. Any response would be appreciated, becuase the game is simply unplayable at the moment.

Edit: I've done a complete update via patcher and I still went LD within 2-3 minutes of entering the game. On the P L F meter, I get the red box on "L" every few seconds. When I check the IP address of the game on DAOC Portal, it shows up as 88.198.56.21, which is what everyone seems to report, but after the update I still get a different IP address when I ping uthgard.game-server.cc. Can I somehow tell my computer to go to a different IP address for uthgard.game-server.cc?

Very frustrated.
