It doesn't affect Rangers in any favorable way, so probably not.

It's just classic, that hunters an scouts, but especially hunters are the 'weaker' classes stealthwar. Nothing bad about that. But they never had such a hard time like now on uthgard. (I like to compare achers, plssss dont let that become a ranger flame thread)

I think, hunter/scout problem is all about defense/defensepenetration. It's just fact, that any kind of Dualwield (LA/CD/DW) is the superior weapon-mechanic on uthgard. DualWield > everything while one/two hand sucks-a-lot. Evade five hits in a row vs Scout (i play SB) not that uncommon. If you avoid first CS, Scouts are free RP! Purge Slam, then stick and afk, no matter they pull out IP or something....
Otherway around, hit an assassin with hunter/scout is like watch out for falling stars.... there are some at night, but mostly nothing gonna happen....


Btw, thats why i think rangers aren't overpowered (! yeah rock me), ok, they have good buffs (advantage on Uthgard) but it's all about creepy CD. Ranger would suck like Hunter, if he could only wield 2h... (again, no ranger qq pls)


Take away Spear from Hunters and give them Left Axe. Just for an experiment. I BET there will be a endless flood QQ-threads comlaining IP-throwing Norseman-Hunter, smashing the ****** out of just everyone....

Interesting, on that table, hunter spear is two levels higher than every other stealthers melee.
But I think that's also the case on Uthgard.

Then there must be something wrong with spear. If the same hunter changes weapon spec and does a better job, the original weapon must have a problem... right? Maybe a 1 handed spear would help? with a "to-hit" bonus on some style? Anyways, it really blows for hunters atm and its making me wonder about problems with other classes. Sure I could change class to something else, but what might be wrong there? And will I be gimped due to issues beyond my control? Atm I can only get kills if I add (which most people get angry if I do so) or do missions and hope to find some class busy that I might be able to kill. I actually have 4 hunters that I built while testing this. One norse, 2 kobie and 1 dwarf. The norse and the kobies are all 50 and they all ahve a very hard time in rvr. One is mele spec'd, 1 is Sniper spec'd, one is all around spec'd and the dwarf is only level 10.

Anyways I appreciate everyones input. thanks to you all that were constructive in here and at least took the time to read it.

Hammeron, I STRONGLY recommend talking to Edgtho about hunters. He uses a spec that tear's threw stealthers. He is a good player, so I'm sure that is a big part of it, but his dmg is high on mele and he is tough as nails for taking dmg. I know he plays Woody on Hib and Edgtho on Mid but not for sure of any of his other toons. Seriously, if you are having a hard time with the class reach out to him. I could be wrong, but from fighting him I would say he's almost full mele spec and he uses one of the Dragon swords. Hunters are a viable class here. The 2h dmg seems fine to me, but I will admit that the pet is certainly broke since it does very little dmg.

Also, what RR are these toons? Hell, for all the talk about rangers being op'd they SUCK at RvR until they get up over RR5L0. I pretty much duo'd emain with a shade, farmed df rvr, and did gaurd tasks till I got up to around mid 5L's. You cant call a class gimped if your not willing to raise them up in RR before going out to Frontier RvR. I dont know of any class off the top of my head that can go to Frontier RvR at 4L2 and do ok solo. Maybe an assasin or minstril.

I would like to fight this hunter as I don't believe I've run into him yet. In my experience hunters are free RPS. Screenshots like the one Fjott posted where the target evades 7+ times in a row is not uncommon at all vs hunters for some reason. I often kill them without even getting hit which should NOT happen at all. Now granted player skill > all however you can only do so much with a turd you know? At best you can make a pretty turd castle but its still a turd and hunters are pretty much that. They need some SERIOUS help on this server. As do scouts.

Edit: Most stealthers blow until RR5. I tried emain on my inf below R5 and that was rough. You cant beat another assassin over R5 because of remedy and most rangers will crush your nuts at low RR.

You cant beat Daoc mechanics, so better roll a ranger if u want to play a Bow class Every hunter is free food if u r at equal RR.
PS: You can wait for your camou timer and get a kill every 10min

edgtho iss really good, and if i know one thing, spear hunter does in fact the highest melee damage, yes on uthgard. another fact is, that 95% of all hunters enslave themselves as mos-bot only, so there is no need for one of them to learn how to play solo, and still i miss the scout is op;-)

there is another thing: i know at least more than a handfull rangers by name, if solo only approaching to amg/emain WITH camouflage up (and naturally all other ra's mostly up again) and do one sure kill...same could do a hunter

Cool story about Edgtho is:
He got sick of all the ranger QQ on these boards, rolled a hunter and guess what?
He was doing great solo (haven´t seen him for a while) ... so yes, get in touch and maybe get some advice.
