Server lags still exist sometimes. Not completely optimized yet.

i'm not complaining, just trying to get some help i play on old gear, but it never let me down, i did over 160 dragon raids on this pc, never had any lag till last friday, monday it was even worse, i had like 0.5 fps the whole time, i just wonder what could cause this, if you read whathever post i ever made on this forum the last 5 years, i don't think you will find one where i blame the staff for a single thing i'm gratefull i can play this game, i know they spend a lot of time trying to get things as good as possible, sometimes i disagree whith their decisions but it's theire server, if they decide to change ogres into blue midgets with small dicks, well that's ok for me.. i just enjoy playing here, if i'm ti gimp to do rvr, well, i'll be a crafter and pve player, doesn't matter if they decide to close up and spen their time irl, i'll just be sad and go on with my life and talk with my sons abouth all the fun we once had on that great server.. just hoping that won't happen soon, and hoping to find what causes the lag so i can enjoy this game some more <img src="http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f295/Raven4eva/MontySigcopy.jpg" border="0" alt="Sig">

i use a power plug, so i connect to the router via power lines in the house, never had any probd with that
i tried to use a cable directly to the router tonight, no change, lag every few minutes, i didn't linkdead but it was no fun at all i had an endless ping running while playing and no packet losses at all, did anyone other had lots of lag between 20h and 22h tonight? <img src="http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f295/Raven4eva/MontySigcopy.jpg" border="0" alt="Sig">

let me be honest i have never have so much lag on any server in 8 years that i'm having now for weeks on uthgard i beg any admin/gm to solve this before i leave daoc forever |

i never had lag, only when everybody else was complaining i had some.. linkdeads.. i maybe had 10 to 15 in 5 years..
when others started to cry abouth lag, i started to notice some.. last moday i had a lousy dragon raid due to massive lag, last friday i doubled my rams, form 1 gig to 2 gig, i know, 1 gig is too low, but it never bothered me before, i had a linkdead some minutes before the start, it came out of the blue, i could log back very fast and only had 2 or 3 very bad lagspikes during raid, but the weird thing is, it's just like my pc freezes and after some time it catches up, if i was hitting some mob when it starts, good chance the mob died during the freeze.. tonight id leveled some more on my reaver, every few minutes i get lagspikes but no linkdeads, seems like the fixes blue made worked for a lot of players but not for flanders.. <img src="http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f295/Raven4eva/MontySigcopy.jpg" border="0" alt="Sig">

you using belgacom aswell ? i'm using belgacom for 8 years now never had problems on live or on uthgard until 4weeks ago now i have a big lagspike every 20-30secs also gimme your ingame name :p |

This is to the guy with .5fps, I too had a slideshow going on for a while too, it might not be server lag maybe your video card. After terrible fps for about a week I opened up my case and found out sc2 litterally melted part of my video card lol, with new one which is not high end by any means, I get almost no fps problems now.

i use teleslet, belgacom is not possible, i live too far from a connection point, we tried it, but it's not working
been usinug teleslet for 8 or 9 years now, but maybe it is the connection, cause i'm having some problems with a few tv stations on the digibox, but that's been a few months now, lag started like 3 weeks ago.. i did an endless ping to some german site while playing, everytime i had massive lag i looked at it, but i had no ping over 22msec for over two hours.. weird the 0.5 Fps thing is solved with more ram memory, the lag remains the same, sreen freeze, middle lag bub goes yellow, then red, then the left one follows, only had 1 linkdead in the last 10 day's, hmmm... i wonder btw, ingame name is the one i'm using here, but lately grinding my reaver whipslash <img src="http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f295/Raven4eva/MontySigcopy.jpg" border="0" alt="Sig">

changed to the newest drivers for: video card, network card,
di an andless ping to google.de, started palying, had big lagspike every few minutes, looked at ping, no packtet loss, lowest ping was 26 ms.. i saw no complaints abouth lag on broad... getting a bit desperate here.. what's going on? <img src="http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f295/Raven4eva/MontySigcopy.jpg" border="0" alt="Sig">

Do an endless ping to uthgard.game-server.cc too.
And write down exact times when it happened to you so I can look in logfiles what happened. It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

ive also been having pretty bad lag spikes lately, usually every 30sec - 1 min. i play from the US but i never really had issues with it before, not sure what the cause is. ive ran pings to the gameserver for long periods of time and from what i see they arent bad (~200ms - 300ms) with an occasional time out, but even when it times out that doesnt seem to be when i get the spikes. im 99% sure its not graphic/cpu lag but just incase i could be wrong here are my computer specs:
CPU: Intel Core2 Duo T9600 @ 2.80 GHz GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 512 MB RAM: 4.00 GB Shared Dual Channel DDR3 it mostly seems to be when the server is high population though so that may be a cause that cant really be fixed  Ecati - 50 Cleric, Leg SCer - Deleted |
