Missing proc for bows

I would gladly trade in my melee ranger for a bow ranger that did live-like bow damage. I have been told by staff in a PM that the bow damage on Uthgard is normal "Live Like". http://de.daocpedia.eu/index.php/Schadenstabelle Must be translated... This is what is used for uthgard on damage tables. If that's the case then it must be a defense problem then.... Every class use to have a "edge" its seems like they are all rounded down to a "banana-like sharpness" Hench why I picked up playing on a wow-shard server and stopped playing Uthgard until some major changes are fixed. But I'm not holding my breath.... |

Eclisped you probably forgot that we (Rangers) get dodger with OF RAS.
With high PF, & cap dodger, who cared about pd and mos ![]() Train pierce 50 to pull the DB line and left it chain ![]() As for bows, they need their procs, but........ |

Dodger is nice, but nowhere even close to being in line w/ what MoS and PD offer a ranger. Dodger 5 is uber expensive to get and add's a whopping 15% higher chance to evade. Sounds good, but remember, assasins, minstrils, and a host of other classes that allready have higher evade rates will also have this. So all in all its a push since your not really gaining anything on the other evade classes. It will be nicer against the non evade classes, but I would certainly keep MoS and/or PD over dodger.
After going threw this I to dont understand why bow proc's dont work. It makes no sense. If you want to see scouts and hunters become more utilised give them procs on there bow's. If you want to see more hybrid/sniper spec rangers then give them procs on their bow's. Every other class has working procs on all of their weapons EXCEPT archers on their bow's. You have designed special bow's (tajendi) just for Uthgard and put procs on them. Also, to whoever said that the procs on bow's were not installed till later in the game..... WRONG!!! I played on classic, unlike yourself apparently, and procs were on bow's. I had a bow w/ a heal proc from Sheeroe Hills on my ranger on live prior to ToA, and when ToA came out EVERY archer had a Fool's bow which had a proc on it. Not for sure exactly when proc's were implemented on bow's, but I know it was before SI for sure. |

The only thing I can think of is that some staff member got killed by a sniper bow spec back in there daoc childhood one to many times? Maybe German culture sniper bow spec is for cowards? and its not fair to die unless your face to face melee range and visible or something? I don't know...
Blue says bow damage tables are fine but when I first played classic before it was called classic daoc, bow damage was good and you could 2 shot kill players that are not templates and 4 shot snipe people who were. Maybe defense is the problem? To much AC modifier? Bow is based off the 2hd damage table, bow had its own damage table maybe DOL assumed that they were one and the same and used the 2hd damage table at the time and its been stuck threw all the versions, I dont know... Blue has requested tests I think in the past and cant proceed on hearsay or experience. He needs tests. I think Eclipse made thos test but they fell on some def ears... I would do the test myself but Im a Lazy American, and don't like re-inventing the wheel if someone already did all the work before. |

I would agree with your comments on bow damage Alpha. I've said it on these threads a few times that the dmg on bow's is ALOT less then it was on classic. Now, in saying that I will also agree w/ Uthgard staff that the dmg on bow's is ok for this server. I have a 35 spec in bow (+17) and I consistantly get crit shots for 400-600 and can even get crit shots up to 1k if they are untemplated or a little lower lvl. I remember on live on classic shooting non tank classes for 700-900 dmg on crits almost every shot. The only hard part was getting them to stop running around so you could get a crit shot off. If we had that kind of consistant bow dmg on Uthgard it truly would make the archer classes op'd. Nobody should be able to 2-3 shot any lvl 50 fully templated toon.

If you were saying that the higher shots on live were due to them not having templates I would have to STRONGLY disagree with you. Yes, some may have not had a full maxed out template, but to most lvl 50's w/ a very shoddy or bad template i could litererally 1 shot w/ my bow on a good crit. I had shots on classic live that went over 1k easily and alot more often then now on Uthgard. On Uthgard I need a untemplated char and prolly one below 50 and have him be a non tank class to get a 1k+ crit shot off. Even w/ all those criteria met its a very, very, rare occurence. Its maybe happened 5 times, if that many, in 16 months of play total. On live 1k+ shots were also rare, but happened about 5 or more times a WEEK. Say what you will, but I did play ranger on classic and the dmg was 100%, for sure, definatley more then what it is on Uthgard.
Once again, I want to say that I think the damage works better on Uthgard. On live with classic RA's the archers NEEDED bow. You didnt have mele archers. You had hybred and sniper spec. The reason was that archers were used to drop caster's, healers, and non shield spec hybrids b4 they got to us. With the inclusion of Mastery of Stealth, Physical Def, and the shar class mele rangers became the norm, and the role of archers became assasin hunters. |

All Im saying it that its been 4 years or so and the bug is still here. Older posts can no longer be found since the first one was locked/removed during last web build... After 4 years its the only thing I can think of. Will bow proc's be OP vs players? Is that why? I really don't know... I was hoping if you or staff would tell us... After a long time, the mind wanders on why it has not been resolved...The whole player base is left in the dark on bug fixes with no reason or logic... I understand you/staff are a afraid to say anything on any bug due to which side will complain about it. But the system is broke, if you want to ban me from saying that "The emperor has no clothes on" then you have that right. IMO if you want to keep donations up and player base high, then at least throw us a bone say "we are working on this xxxx" in the next few week, heck I will take the next few months. As it sits now we have no clue only a tracker # on some bugs which we don't know what the # means in order of things to do, or what it means. Im so burned out on waiting for fixes, Im just playing two other MMORPG until some bugs are resolved. You guys rolled out Mez breaks and rups and such in a heart beat, but cant resolve a bow proc? If you feel you need to ban me then do so, honestly, maybe that adds just another reason why I should not come back. Im not expecting a huge loss on my absence from anyone, Im sure my guild will run fine with out me... Its not personal to any staff on your skill, its just "status" information the player bases wants and needs... |

I have been following the forums and read up every other week for new posts and comments. If your referring to the priority of bug fixes before class fixes, I assumed one are the same. Or are you referring to old RA's first? All Im saying is if you guys can do a list like.. Things to do.... 1) Fix alb level 40 quest "Bunny Killers" 2) Fix mid zerg from rolling dirt piles in emain 3) Fix correct DPS on Hib dagger "The Pig Sticker" If you guys could at least post a list and adjust the order of importance due to OP or bug that is affecting server economy or something, I think that will go along way to keep people like me to shut up. Not because of one realm or the other is screaming the loudest about the importance of a class bug, but because its a list that everyone can see, heck some here can even read too. I know staff is worried about the critics on making such a list and some players not liking the order. But its better that then the current system, which at this point some question the logic like old RA before class fixes or even NF back to OF and no class fixes first etc... |

I have read this before, It is enough for the minority. If the effort was spent on class specific issues with every realm, you would increase more donations. Maybe enough to recruit a dev's. Working on bugs that are not relevant to the players/character base is why population is dropping. Guild fixes, as a example, is not on the top of the list of players minds. Working damage tables are, block rates are, evade rates are just to name a few. |
