I understand we dealt with a little lag when we started playing. I had lag at launch, I was one of the lucky ones to get in first hour. I've had a normal spike here and there for a few seconds. None of my lag, beyond that first day has ever lasted more than a few seconds.

I am on the most basic computer that best buy sold about 3 years ago. My machine is definitely not geared for modern gaming, just for basic office functions. It plays the hell out of DAOC.

My point, this lag bs people keep complaining about is all in your head. There is no difference in lag between the realms. That would require separate servers, which we do not have.

Kaosfury, I feel like you are the new soddin of the forums. Something will make you turn later. Watch this space I say.

Also, kosmokrater - no. Lag is pretty terrible sometimes. More than a few seconds on a number of occasions. Even yesterday it was unplayable for a good 30 minutes or so at prime time.

You can only have ONE account. NO MORE ACCOUNTS. It's this simple. You have another account (first break). It was lagging on Albion ? It will lagging on Hib or Mid. The problem is not the realm, it is the server. You have IRC to check status and get info... No excuse there.

The fact that all you guys are circle jerking in his face rather than showing support or love for your fellow Uthgardians, is exactly the point a lot of us 1.0 players are trying to make. You new guys are toxic and don't even know it. Uth 1.0 was much tighter community, where we worked out our problems amongst ourselves, we didn't /appeal every bad word we saw and then be HAPPY with our decision to ruin somebody elses experience. And we definitely didn't get HAPPY to lose another player.

Possibly losing Ledric is a tragedy, because he was a good guy. Fun to talk to in /gu. And helpful. The nub /gu needs more people like him and me. And we are being constantly /appealed for what was considered normal behavior in uth 1.0. I don't own the server so I don't call the shots, but I feel like us Uth1.0 vets are being put to the side, so that the masses, AKA LoLers and new players, can be appealed to. This kinda crap didn't fly back in the day, and if something went down, typically you could reason with the admins. Now everything is black and white, Yes or no. It's not about bolstering community, or helping others have a good time, the classic 1.0 feel is completely gone, and it's making the game feel like a sad, reddit like place.

And we all know that when the hype dies, it's gonna be back down to same same groups, 8v8ing against the same people. Many of the Uth 1.0 population is not happy. Go out in to the world and talk to people and you will see! It's a constant discussion.

And YES albion experienced lag that wasn't on the other realms. For many many days. It would be fine in some dungeons. But the entire Albion overworld had such huge caster lag it was ridiculous. Was basically unplayable.

Unless you are admitting to running multiple accounts... (are you?) I can say without a shred of doubt that the lag was NOT even in the realm of equal between Albion and Midgard when I tested it. My necro pet was disappearing, detargting, failing to get of fa single spell in the duratin of facilitate painworking, and generally taking 8-10 second to begin casts. Logged on another account, this one Mid. Zero lag. Zero disappearing mobs. My ping was flawless. It was a real eye opener. The staff themselves have even admitted the lag was realm specific to Albion.

This is WHY we needed more testing. Unless you have played both you have NO grounds to form an opinion on this. I tried both and before it was fixes the amount of lag was well beyond the point of being noticable and well into the realm of being unplayble. I didn't try Hib so I have no idea if they were lagging or not. The entire starter guild I was in on Alb was complaining about the lag as well. So unless you are running multiple accounts you frankly have no say in this.

This is something you could only have noticed if you HAD played on 2 separate realms. Which is something I STUPIDLY tested due to people on the forums that played Mid saying there was no lag. Guess what? They were right. Mid had zero lag issues.
