The camelot.exe always downloads the full client, it doesnt matter if you had a 14-day-trial or something else.
Maybe its a very weird graphics driver / direct x / whatever driver problem.

Well I copied my first daoc folder to my friend's laptop and he has the same problem, so how could it be a driver problem? Also this is a problem I only have with Uthgard, I can join other freeshards without problems with characters over lvl 25. And well, the game freeze, no crashes/blue screens.

Edit: I tried to install the new nvidia drivers, just for be sure, but it still freezes, so it might not be a driver problem.

I remoted into Fearra's PC to have a look myself and I did the following troubleshooting on his system:

(He is running Windows Vista)

On my PC
- successfully logged into his account from my PC

On his PC
- Game closes when trying to launch two different lvl 25's
- Game runs when creating new toons (under lvl 25)
- deleted all .ini files in the user\appdata\roaming\ea\daoc folders
- deleted all files in user\documents\ea\daoc folder
- uninstalled daoc (and redownloaded from the herald)
- uninstalled daoc portal (and redownloaded from the herald)
- disabled local firewalls
- disabled local antivirus
- deleted all registry entries
- reinstalled daoc
- reinstalled daoc portal
- updated the update.dat file
- patched classic/crafting/tajenda to DAOC Portal

Results:
Attempted to launch Uthgard without a UI = failed
Attempted to launch Uthgard with a UI = failed
Attempted to log into my lvl 50 on his machine = failed
Attempted to log in another account above level 25 = failed
Updated Video Driver = failed
Created a lvl 1 toon = logs in successfully

Weirld cases:
- I can log in the lvl 25 from another PC (with a different IP Address)
- I purged all DAOC data from his system, so it is odd to be a corrupt file?
- Can't be a video driver issue, because he can log in sub-lvl 25 toons?
- Can't be a game installation issue, because he can log in sub-lvl 25 toons?

Perhaps there is an IP Address block/control on the amount of levels the account can achieve?

Note: This issue started after last weeks server FREEZE that booted everyone out of the game and DAOC Portal for roughly 30 minutes.

It can't be an IP block/control since I downloaded the game on a room-mate computer and he can log my lvl 25 character with the same IP address.

weird, than the last resort would be a system format? because that defines it being a local issue and not server-side if my theory isn't it.

I tried to copy the working daoc folder on my other room-mate laptop (The one I copied my first installation daoc folder) and it freezes. So yeah, it might be "local", but since my room-mate used my own daoc folder now he has this problem too, so it can't be just a problem with my laptop but something that happens to you when you run a particoular version of daoc and that we haven't found how to remove yet.
I'm sorry if I couldn't express better, I'm not a native english speaker.

Did you log in his account or one of the affected characters that he is unable to log in?

crypt logged onto my account with one of my 2 lvl 25 zerkers doesnt work

I could log into his zerks from my home PC, but I was unable to log into his zerks from his PC. nor was I able to log into my account from his PC.

Any account with a toon 25+ closed out DAOC!

and this happens exactly to me. Couldn't be a script issue related maybe with over lvl 25 chars? Consider that a lot of people beside us could have this problem, since they aren't already lvl 25, and other people could have had it and just didn't ask for help on the forum.

As an FYI Update,

My bud leveled a second level 25 toon, and upon log off, he cannot log into this character as well.

So, this is two seperate level 25's he is unable to log into now.

Same DAoC version?

Me and my friend Astarta were using the same version of daoc (The US Trial patched to 1.95 Eu) when it first happened, and now we can't log in with over lvl 25 chars, whatever version of the game we use (I downloaded the EU game like 3 times). We also have tried to copy a working folder from a friend's pc in wich it works (He never run my US Trial daoc), but still we freeze with over lvl 25 chars, while for example it doesn't in my friend's pc (Same IP Adress).

Edit: by the way I tried a system restore to a day I didn't even installed Daoc but it doesn't help. I've also tried to reinstall the US Trial, using a software for let me know excactly wich files and reg entries were modified/deleted/added for a complete unistall but still the game freezes.
