I'll hitchhike this thread if you don't mind...

I am at a point where DaoC runs just fine, it's the european version fully patched in english.
I downloaded the Uthgard patches into the mods directory of portal, applied them with mono and the ModManager.

I can start portal using "mono Portal.exe", but when I let it autoupdate it crashes with a weird Xserver error.
I can't just click on the uthgard entry in portal either. It's LIGHT blue and like all the light blue servers in there it can NOT be clicked.

Not sure how to set my daoc install in portals settings. If I use windows style (C:\blahblahblah..) it won't find it. Using linux style (/home/user/wherever...)
it automatically detects my install. BUT I get an error when starting Uthgard (which I set as a custom server to work around the other problem):
Code: Select all
Failed to set directory, please check the first parameter!
path to my install

I am a bit lost here..

setup daocportal INSIDE the daoc-Folder.. so all the daocportal data is inside the daoc-folder. then you can set your path per -> . <- and dont need to include a full path.

Thanks. I read that somewhere too. By now, Portal at least let's me connect (after adding Uthgard as a custom server) but not update, which is fine. I use a dolloader call now anyway, no need for useless gui ;)
