About damage variance:
I saw too there is a very huge damage variance (100%-144% I read, but I though was 100%-125%) but it should be normal

About dmg raise with spec:
With 35+15 in your 1h weapon, you cap the -base damage- you make with 1 swing. You will still have the damage variance though.
With 50+15 in your 1h weapon, you have same damage variance and base damage than 35+15 in weapon, but your -style damage- should be increased
This is how it should work as far as I know

You cant increase styledmg... It has solid values given by the styles.

Spec over 51 should reduce the dmg variance, never experienced a fulltank(arms, hero, warrior) rr11, hitting you for same dmg per hit(using same style over and over), for exactly same dmg? In this case, they have 71 weaponspec, and therefore, theyve capped their dmgvariance somewhere on the way to rr11 (i dont know how whats the real point to cap it, but its somewhere on the way, roughly around 2400ws) on live.
Here, i dont really know how this whole system works on uthgard.

if i spec 50 axe i get to have 2250 weap skill fully bufed, and i tell you that my dmg still variates like hell if i use either axe or Laxe styles , and it takes the ****** seeing that with 50+16 axe. i m double speced atm, but i feel that specing higher..like 41+15 axe 41+15 hammer will raise my dmg a lil' bit when using Doublefrost, i got time to see em all..for the mom i hit oke..but the dmg variance is killing me.

Just spend 2k bps and test out^^

50+16 axe spec hitting unstyled the doll for 1 minute
and 35+16 axe spec doing same

Whats gonna be your dmg? average dmg? max dmg? min dmg? note em, and post here....
I guess there wont be much difference between 50+16 and 35+16
If you want to test out more, go 50 composite spec instead of usual 51, and spec 34+16, or 35+15^^
Im running 39+11-16 on my melee toons, and im quite ok with it.

Uthgard is not like any other oficial servers , here indeed if u spec 50+15 u dont get such an increase in dmg, on oficial tho u do, i dont have pics since 2004 and so on when i played tanks on Alb/Excalibur but i know that the increase of weap skil u had with 50+15 for example gave u a huge increase in dmg, while here it doesnt, not gona spend 2k bp here cause i already did that.. . and yes, dmg was the same with a huge variance, actually beeing 50+15 or 35+15 if u make an average u r around teh same dmgs , thats why mercs and Bm s go slam spec and so on, having slam on oficial .. ppl would laugh at you cause u loose like 25% dmg , and weapon skill.

Pretty much everything in that post is wrong.

Styledamage increase with spec.

Easy test: hit a lvl 1 mob with style XYZ change your weaponsspec hit another lvl1 mob.

Of course variance is gonna be lower if you start hitting for cap.
That is affected by a lot of factors thought and you can have 0 variance with no weaponspec at all if the target has low enough af/abs to cap all the time.

Oooh!

Im sorry i didnt know that dmg has no variance only if enemy has too low af/abs.

Then this must be the case for a fight warrior vs armsman both rr11+ when they hit each other, for exactly same dmg with same style. Sorry... Must be because their dmg is so much higher than their af, that af doesnt really matter in the end.

ROFL ?? all mercs on albion were 50+15 weapon 50+15 dw at rr5, none of em had slam..
