if you want alchy go alchy...i think SCers can take alch as side skill but u only need 1001 as SC to be able to do it all and then you alch skill won't be high enough to make anything necessary...

either use wc or tailor so you are able to make your own weapons or armor, depending on what degrades more often..also this will allow you to repair them...easier, faster and by far cheapest is tailor, so maybe that's the way to go

Well, as stealther you need poisons and a xxxxload of potions, so I guess it would not hurt to go for alch - at least till around 700 - thats done in 3 hours and a few hundert gold - so you can craft all poisons and the 2nd highest pots - there are some at 1000, but those need special ingredients only available as drops.

On the other side, I deleted my alch trade skill on my minstrel, as it was not good, when she was parked in df and my other toons needed pots. So i rolled a lvl 10 ogre female alch, who who fills my vault regularly. All pvp chars now got a craft skill, which enables them to rep gear themselves - in field, or waiting on pad (tailor, ac ...). Tailoring to 700 (incl. metall skill) is damn cheap - and for me its well worth to always have repped gear - and not have to mule around.

So if i started all over again, I d do following:

- serious crafters only on separate toons, which will not played (so they are always at house or capital - they always have empty inventory and storage for crafting in vault)
- every pvp toon tailoring to 700 (incl. sideskills) to be able to rep gear everywhere, anywhere

Got that idea from a fellow player - and I really like it!

I make all of my main RvR characters Alchemists (At least 700).

It's frustrating transfering potions or buying them in housing all of the time. I sure wish I could transfer my Bards LGM Armorcraft status to become an Alchemist.

Plus if they ever fix "Alchemy Recharging", you could recharge all of your crafted charges in the field.

i only need like 400 alchy at least to be fine, cause i would just use it for pots and nothing more.

Base pots are around 360

I dont know about handling poisons (if bought at npc, or whatever), but for pots, having an separate alt is just perfect - always at house, no need to buy ingredients every time i need some pots(got his personal vault full of em, and alch table at house), craft and fill up chest in house when there are some spare minutes.

With pvp char has to craft, you gotta run to capital, get ingredients, empty your inventar from other stuff (like weapons or other pots) so you have enough room to craft your base pots and so on... just tedious.

If you dont wanna craft poisons, make a tailor to 700 incl. side skills - enough to rep gear on pad while waiting to get ported. You could also make some crafter, you dont have already - but this still sucks, when your sb is for instance leg fletcher - and you need to craft something - sb sits in df or where ever, and even if she is at home, you got to empty your inventory from pots/poisons, weapons.... erf... no more, at least for me!

All but alchemist and spellcrafter can do this, to repair u only need enough skill on metal/wood/leather/clothworking, tailor is the cheapest afaik

seems i spell smth wrong. i DONT wanna craft S/C-pots, i only need str (-/) + con wich are skill 360. thats why i asked if alchy could be a sideline of another crafter. but seems not.

hmm, but major priority was buffpots.........

i expect this answer but though better ask befor waste time and money.
So i gonna roll another Alchy now and still need to mule weaps and armor for repair.

thx for answers

??

I just mentioned s/c as side note...

So, as I guess you got another alch or you run the other buffs by charges, the most convenient way would be...

Buy an extra house, bind sb and a new alch toon there, so you can fill chest with s and c pots, make sb tailor to 700 so you can rep gear yourself.
